Bennett Piano Movers

Bennett Piano Movers damaged my 5’ baby grand piano and bench when they moved and returned our piano. It was in climate controlled storage for several months. When the piano was moved home and set in place, they left quickly, even though I was still carefully looking over the piano. Upon seeing the damage, I called and asked them to come back (thankfully they were just down the street). They returned, and I pointed out some of the damage to the guys (the same two people who removed the piano also returned it).

After calling around and inquiring about the cost to move our baby grand piano from our old home to our new home, we decided to go with Bennett Piano. The piano, which had been recently rebuilt and refinished, was damaged during the move in three years ago. Understandably, the previous damage was pointed out and pictures taken for Bennett’s protection prior to moving the piano. Honestly, our project was a difficult move, as there were two 90 degree turns going down the stairs.

UPDATE: I filed a police report about my missing piano and the investigator agreed to take out a warrant on James Keena (Bennett). I *Strongly* encourage everyone else with missing pianos to do the same!!! I paid Bennett a deposit and they picked up a piano for me almost four months ago on December 9th. I agreed to let them store it temporarily while they waited for a move in this direction because I am out of state. We agreed to a delivery date of February 21.

First time they were scheduled to pick up, they hit a deer. Fine, not their fault, rescheduled a couple weeks later so they could recuperate and recover. Second time, they didn't have all the equipment they needed, not fully prepared, had to reschedule again. Third time, over an hour late, apparently didn't take traffic into account. Glad they finally got it done, but very disappointed that it took so long, given their high rating here. Expected better, would not recommend.

They picked my piano up for me and moved it to storage. Then when I tried to have it moved to my new home they have gone radio silent. I have been trying for two months to get something scheduled but they never respond. I came from out of town to meet them on the one date we did get on the calendar and they never showed up. Now I can’t get an answer from anyone.

Extremely disappointed! James had said he would be there on a Friday to get my piano. Two weeks (and 4 excuses) later, they still did not have my piano. Another company was selected and came promptly with all equipment needed. I would discourage using Bennett Piano Movers.

Stay away! -- James Bennett moved and stored our piano, collected moving and storage fees -- and then never returned a call, text, or email over multiple attempts for 6 months for the return of our piano. As best we can tell, he may have taken our piano.
