In their own words
At first everything was going well. They were very good and courteous when I was setting up the move. Things started going south when they couldn't make the date for packing up my stuff. They came a day later which is not a huge deal but some (not all) of the guys packing up my house were unprofessional. The biggest issue was one guy refused to close the bathroom door when using it. Who does that when the owners are home. Everything was packed up and note that a LOT of supplies were left behind.
Was supposed to have cabinets delivered on the 21st between 9am - 1pm. They never showed up and no one called to reschedule or offer a reason as to why there was no delivery. Tried calling multiple different staff with no answer. Finally got ahold of someone the following day after leaving multiple voicemails. Two different people had varying stories about why our delivery didn't come. No one seemed to know who rescheduled it.
Awful, awful customer service. Mike promised that Berger would be with us through our entire move. Well, they lost a box of ours containing some art work we really love. Made us file a claim with a subcontractor who never called or asked about the box. I got a couple of form-letter emails saying they made calls and can’t find our box. That’s it. They consider their responsibility to be over. How do they lose a box that was in their possession? Awful and unwilling to help you when you need it.
The truck driver and mover were great! Moved everything with care and nothing was missing or broken. Everyone was friendly from the estimator to the truck driver. What I didn’t like was the billing portion of the move. I am a person who pays a lot of attention to detail. I paid attention to the numbers on the “estimate” and “bill of lading”. I even went so far as to show up for the weigh in before and after since the end bill is actuals. First of all, I did not get a bill of lading that was filled out.
See my Yelp review on Berger for all details. Berger misrepresented how they would load items, their load team lead marked EVERYTHING with "scratches all over" even though there was no damage, we had a lot of damaged items and our transfer delivery was delayed 3 days despite providing 6 weeks notice on our transfer date and receiving confirmation for the dates. At no time during the 6 weeks did anyone tell us they were having scheduling issues or that we might not make our set dates.
We chose to have Berger Allied move us from Columbus, OH to Austin, TX. We researched and researched different companies as well as get quotes and interview these companies. We settled on Berger due to the reviews and the employees we had contact with. We also paid to have the company pack up all of our stuff. They day of packing, the movers arrived and started packing. However, they were short many boxes that they needed. That should have been a red flag I noticed.
Hello Mr. Ho, We are deeply sorry to hear about your recent unsatisfactory experience with our moving services. It's out goal to deliver top-notch service to all of our customers, and it's clear that we have fallen short in your case.
2 guys put all 7 boxes on our driveway from the huge truck in the street. Unpacked bed. No one realized how dirty the bed was but the guys did see some manufacturer defects/ took pictures/set up bed. When bed was set up and they slid the bed to the wall which now stained our white carpet, the white bed linens and we realized the whole bed needed to be cleaned/ wiped down. The claim was put in weeks ago and pictures taken for Berger, but NO follow up yet from Berger to clean the home damage yet.
If I could give a 0, I would. Got a few quotes for my move, and this one was $hundreds more expensive. Berger Allied sent David L to do my esrimate, so I called David to try and understand why they're so much higher than their competition, but he was extremely rude, got angry, and hung up on me!! Unbelievable..so unprofessional. And after a week of back and forth calls.

In their own words
Very professional company with great communication. The agent was incredibly helpful and had the estimate of weight almost perfect. On time the day they picked up and worked carefully and efficiently. They helped with storage and when I was ready,, the move in went smoothly..nice people and easy to work with. Everything was done well. Highly recommend this company!
The best of best mover (interstate)! If you are looking for an interstate mover, you have to choose this mover. Reasonable price and perfect service. I really appreciate their hardworking, loyalty, and honesty!! They will text, email, and call you every step! They are really good, especially David!
You can tell when you're working with professionals. They enjoy what they're doing, they do it well and they communicate with you throughout the process. Such was my experience working with Berger Allied on a cross country move in January 2020. Entrusting our belongings (valuable or not) to strangers does not come easily, so I was pleasantly surprised by how standout driver, Kevin, and his ground handling teams in Maplewood and Mesa handled everything, including my expectations and last minute requests.
Berger Allied was FANTASTIC from the beginning to end and worth every penny! I had a lot of artwork that needed special boxes and Mike (Sales Person/Estimator) was phenomenal from the get go. He was very thorough and knew exactly how many boxes were needed. He was polite, professional and listened to my concerns. Because an 18-wheeler doesn’t fit in my old neighborhood, he recommended we pack/move over 3 days. The packers were outstanding!
We’re so glad to hear that we made your move stress-free! Our experienced packers and movers work diligently to ensure every move is safe, secure, and efficient. Thank you for choosing us as your trusted moving company.
