Big Blue Moving

We moved a large house requiring 2 trucks and 4 guys. They arrived on time but during the move, one of the 4 guys (Nick) was quite unhelpful and see playing with our arcade games, scrolling on his phone, and sitting in the chair while even I was helping move. If charging for four men an hour then I would expect that to include 4 working men. Additionally, they scratched up our couch and put a hole in it and made several marks on our walls. They were polite but not as careful as I had hoped.

Be forewarned!! I really wish someone had warned us :( The movers were very friendly and worked fast. I have no problem with the movers. However I was given a quote of $1,360 for picking up our furniture and holding it overnight for 2 nights then dropping it off. The day came and they brought a 24 foot truck for an 1800 square foot house...they didn't look at furniture beforehand. It was decided we needed another truck so estimate was about 2000 and the employee said this was the final price when we paid the bill.

I was moving due to renovations. My apartment complex hired Big Blue Moving Company to move my stuff. They were quick, careful, and polite. Although, I noticed a few weeks later that my dustpan along with a box of Christmas lights was missing and come to realize that it was more than likely left on the truck. I know there is nothing that I can do about it now because it has been a few weeks, however, I am letting others know to make sure everything is off of their trucks.

I didn’t hire this company, but they were moving someone else into my apartment building. They parked blocking the wheelchair entrance. They drove their truck up onto the main entrance of the building. They got onto the elevator, without looking to see if anybody else was trying to get off the elevator. I had to say something to make them stop so I could get out and they were bringing in dolly loads of stuff, and ignoring the fact that I was even there. How rude!

Well if you want really nice people to move you and that is all then I would hire them besides that I would look else where. It was absolutely terrible what they did. They marked an entire stair case and our upstairs walls. Then when unloading they were just putting things everywhere even after a walk through telling them where to put things. I had to move multiple things myself back to where they should have gone.

Hired them to move the larger items from our house to our condo 1/2 mile away. It was a very hot and humid day and the two guys worked very hard. That was the good part. I had a large desk and credenza and two large filing cabinets that needed to be moved from one basement to the other. One of the movers kept arguing with me saying there was no way I got the desk and credenza into there without taking them apart, but I had moved them there with the help of my two sons years ago.

We must have had the Z-team. Don’t know how in the world Big Blue has such a good reputation. These guys have no idea how to load a truck for long distance moves. I’d bet that’s the play, local moves are treated like royalty because they’re in the area and gain the reputation. Long distance? Out of sight, out of mind, get it done as fast as you can. No And you know what that means?

Pros: Very friendly Could tell they had experience moving people They had a game plan Cons: They did bang a couch into a wall and caused a noticeable blemish on a house that I am trying to sell. The quote department vastly under quoted. This also disrupted a relative trying to do some work on our furnace. A team member kicked his parts everywhere. The packing team was not good. The packing team did not use bubble wrap on many items resulting in some items being broken. They put items in a suitcase.
