Black Tie Moving

We used Black Tie to move our belongings and my mother's belongings into our new house. At first, Trey and team were great, hard working and moving fast. As they day went on, more talking and less work done, while I was paying by the hour! At the end of the day, the employee's of Black Tie started to under utillize space on the truck, which I now believe was intentional.

Incredibly unprofessional. Refused to follow customer requests that they mask in accordance with CDC guidance while in someone else's home. Workers who initially said they were not vaccinated showed up without masks for a scheduled move. I am immunocompromised, and our community is currently experiencing a delta surge, so this is a problem. After my boyfriend talked to them, they initially agreed to at least stop and get masks before unloading.

A Catastrophic Joke Masquerading as a Moving Company!! Let me make this painfully clear: Black Tie Movers is not a moving company. They are a traveling disaster, a scam wrapped in lies and duct tape, and the biggest mistake you could ever make during a relocation. Their incompetence is so staggering, so relentless, so insulting that it goes beyond mere negligence—it borders on willful sabotage. They were scheduled for 10 AM. They waltzed in at 12:30 PM like they were dropping by a cookout.

Billed $533 for a small apartment after being given a quote $200 less. They said the extra charges were for equipment, but the only equipment used was standard moving equipment, i.e two dollies and a moving truck equipped with a rear lift. The movers themselves were professional, but billing was problematic because their erroneous billing set off numerous fraud alerts in my account. This caused my bank to suspend my card after their numerous erroneous attempts at billing the account.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. These guys provided a quote to move less than a room full of items for my 70 year old mother. They provide a written quote for approximately $1000 dollars. Two guys and truck show up to move items. These items were from a small cabin which included a potbelly stove, kitchen stove and about 4 furniture items (bed set, armoire, kitchen hutch) and some other small misc items. They totaled the armoire by trying to take it apart which was unnecessary.

Wouldn't be my first option. When unloading they were great! Put down padding and made sure the house was safe. They were moving quick but everything was going well. When they came to load at the old house though it was pretty bad. They came in loaded for a couple minutes and then didn't do anything for about 20-30 mins. They had some concern and had called a manager. Their manager came, looked around and told them to get back to work. I was still charged for this time.

We hired Black Tie Movers per recommendation of Libby Patrick of One More You Transitions who did packing of my parents belongings to move only a portion of their furniture from their house to Stone Oak Retirement Resort on April 24th, 2019. It was the worst moving experience. The movers were careless as they damaged a corner of the upstairs hallway leading to the stairs.

Do yourself a favor and pick any other moving company. I called many moving companies in the area and got all similar quotes and went with Black Tie because of their reviews and reference from someone I know. I confirmed this quote several times and also clarified that they would cover my flooring, rails, wrap my furniture, etc. Was told it would take about 5-7 hours after giving a rundown of my belongings.
