In their own words
Hired them based on a referral from our real estate agent. Booking them was easy and they were very accommodating on the phone. The rest of the process was stressful and they caused us a great deal of inconvenience. They were specifically told not to follow Google maps because it would take them down mud road, and they were specifically told not to bring a trailer as we only needed help moving items into our own trailer; they did both.
I hired this company recently and was deeply disappointed for these reasons: A. MONEY WENT MISSING from my apt - it was there before the movers arrived and gone after... (Hi Evan, I actually gave you some information about the money that went missing, enough for you to question your staff - you make it sound like I gave you none and that is simply false - and I added at the time when I showed up at your office that the rest of the details I would disclose to the police.
Hey Krista, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. To quickly touch on a couple of your concerns: A: When you reached out regarding the alleged cash theft we fully cooperated with you.
May 2021 - they were 4 hours late getting to my condo, with constant updates why they were late; a huge inconvenience for a lot of people; I instructed them to pay close attention to the way my bed was assembled because there had been problems with it on prior moves. They did not pay attention, it took 2 of them, plus a 10 minute search for a new battery for there screw driver, and an extra half hour to put my bed back together - should have been a 10 minute job. One of my dressers had a nick in it.
Late 40 minutes on moving day.... After 10 minutes of walking in ...One of them tells me ...The move is going to cost more..I told them that .I was quoted a price for the move I took one of the beds apart...the dresser to speed things up for the....They took one bed railing sort and my TV of the wall... The same guy...kept saying...Can you take this in your car...the other mover...told both of us ...there was room in the trailer ...and they were taking it They arrived to my new home before me...
We had used Calculated Moving once and it was great good so it seemed like a no-brainer to hire them for our next move. What a mistake. The 2nd time we used them, which was spring of 2024, was like night and day compared to our 1st experience. We had a different crew than the 1st time but initially thought nothing of it thought it would be consistent service. This crew were not even in the same league as the first crew we had though.
Unfortunately we were disappointed with the move. We were moving a 900 square foot, 3 bedroom home. Not big by any means. But they didn’t bring their largest trailer for some reason! They did assign us 3 workers though. They couldn’t even load everything from our house into their trailer, not to mention anything from our garage. During the move we received a call from them as their office learned that they were unable to take everything we wanted.
This was my first time moving within Winnipeg, and I chose Calculated Moving hoping for a professional experience. Unfortunately, the experience did not feel professional at all. They arrived an hour late. The two movers who showed up were very young and honestly looked like high school students. They also appeared inexperienced and seemed to lack both the proper equipment and the skills needed to handle the job efficiently. The work was slow and I didn't get the impression they were working very hard.

They blocked 2 parking spots near the entrance of a seniors complex with their truck. They were moving items after the hours allowed at the condo. Called the company to say they were blocking 2 parking spots. Almost 20 minutes later they came to move the truck.Opened up to spots but blocked out 2 more spots in doing so. Their service needs to consider it’s not just about the people they are moving but the entire community and people around as well.

Great service from start to finish! The team showed up right on time, were friendly and professional, and worked quickly without ever seeming rushed. They wrapped and padded everything carefully not a single item was scratched or broken. They were careful with the walls and doorways too, which I really appreciated. Communication was easy the whole way through, the quote was fair, and there were no surprise charges at the end. Thank you to the whole crew! Highly recommend to anyone looking for movers.

Excellent job by the 3 men assigned to my across town move. The company quoted me a good price and also knew their limitations which allowed me to make alternative arrangements to have other companies move other stuff(ie grand piano that requires disassembly before transportation). Initially quoted the job as 2 trips because of the amount of “stuff” we had. However, due to the great stacking skills of the men, we got it done it 1 trip. They were professional and courteous at all times.

Moving is usually ranked somewhere between getting a root canal and trying to cancel your internet service — but Calculated Moving somehow made the whole experience feel like a spa day with furniture. From the moment they showed up (early, with smiles, and not the “I had 3 Red Bulls, no sleep & a dream), I knew I was in good hands. These guys didn’t just move my stuff — they respected it. I watched one of them cradle my IKEA coffee table like it was a Fabergé egg.
