Onside Restoration and Shortline work together with insurance claims. A 2 bedroom apartment (with minimal furniture) was scheduled for 930/10am move time. Shortline didnt get there until almost 3.5/4hrs due to a lack of mis-communication, scheduling conflicts, it was a friday ? and I kept getting "soon" when I asked the Onside Restoration clerk WHO was onsite at the apartment when they would arrive; they couldn't even give the schedule clerk a time frame either.

My apartment management company recently hired Shortline on my behalf and it was a pretty bad experience. The only positive thing is that they were pretty quick. They knocked the baseboard heater off the wall and didn’t tell me about it. They didn’t move everything they said they would, left a bunch of items in a closet that we had previously discussed would be moved without telling me that anything was left behind and I didn’t discovered it til I went to clean my unit so I had to move a closet full of stuff and…

Never would I hire this company again. The move this weekend was horrendous. The online quote I filled out was based on a house that was full. In the meantime, I had sold so much furniture and was glad the 26 foot truck Alex quoted me in needing would not be packed to the brim resulting in less time to load and unload. Wow, was I mistaken. The truck was so full, one of the movers received permission based on using his half ton to load the remainder of my deck and garage.

I would give them 0 stars if that was an option. If you have a piano, don't use this company. I chose Shortline to move a piano because it got such great reviews and because the office staff was very professional. I am very sorry to say that I had a terrible experience with this company. The movers were three hours late even though when I booked I stressed that the person on the other end needed to be there on her lunch hour.

July 22,2026 I live at a 55+ building at 515 Elgin Avenue. I have called Shortline's office numerous times in regards to their employees parking with there 5 ton trucks and bigger in our loading zone in front of our building. Being this is a 55+ building we have home-care making their rounds starting at 6:00 am and they are at our building until 10:00 pm or later.

I have moved several times due to my profession and have used several different moving companies. I emailed this company asking specifically for a quote and told them the max amount I was able to pay. Jon called me and we discussed what needed to be moved and he gave me a verbal quote and I again told him the max I was able to spend. He agreed this was doable. As others have stated, I found some of the movers wasted time.

Still in shock at how brutal an experience it was working with this company. My husband and I moved from Winnipeg to PEI at the end of May. Short Line assured us they’d be able to accommodate our move timeline, and when they picked up our items on May 26, it was with the understanding that everything would be put in storage in PEI by mid-June. We felt pretty good about things until we emailed them on June 18 letting them know our possession date here in PEI would be July 2.

Shortline continues to disappoint and I feel quite angry. I wrote a review on August 19th about the terrible service and stressful dealings my son and his wife had with their move from Winnipeg to PEI. The review was about lack of professionalism, transparency and accountability for this long distance move that ended up being very expensive! ($4000 over the estimate!
