We used Capital Moving at the end of July for a move within Raleigh. They packed up our house, stored our house contents for one week and then moved us in to our new house. At first, we were very happy. They sent a large crew to quickly move us. Everyone seemed professional and pleasant. One complaint, they used every single one of our bathrooms without asking and only one person wore a mask while in our home.
Ms. Matthews, we are genuinely sorry that we didn't live up to your expectations. We did our best to remedy our shortcomings by promptly paying for all of your damages, dry cleaning your couch cushions, and fixing the marks in your new stairwell - all within 30 days of your move.
I recently had an unfortunate experience with these unprofessional movers. From the beginning, it was clear that they lacked the necessary skills and professionalism for the job. They arrived late, seemed disorganized, and mishandled my belongings. Throughout the process, their communication was poor, and they displayed a lack of respect for my property. I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone looking for a smooth and stress-free move.
Ciara, it sounds like you have had a bad experience, and for that we're sorry. This is the third negative review we've received that is most likely directed at Capital Movers - found on the UHaul labor page. We have no record of you with an estimate, booked project, or anything else.
We packed up wrapped and boxed all of our own boxes except for furniture. When they came to load the trucks they appeared to be very careful and polite. They had to store our stuff for 2 weeks until we could close on our new house. When the trucks came to deliver it was a nightmare. I noticed when they brought the boxes in I could tell they had been thrown around. We had handles broken off of cast iron pans and furniture scratched up like it had been just pushed on the ground.
Mrs. Brantley you are correct. We did a very poor job of moving & storing your home, which is why I drove 8 hours to meet with you and your husband to make amends. I have learned a lot at your expense, and apologize.
0 stars — would give zero if the platform allowed. On April 16, 2026, Capital Movers and Storage moved us to Wake Forest, NC. During the move, multiple crew members disappeared for periods exceeding one hour without explanation. One mover took particular notice of my wife's jewelry, watching closely as she handled it that morning.
They move the furniture out of our old house into a storage unit. They were done pretty quick. My mom and I resided in an apartment until they completed the build for our new home. 8 months later we go to unpack our storage and all of the furniture is missing items, scratched and it’s bad. My mom was so irritated. The new owner offered no assistance but complain about how he took over a company with a lot of issues. The entire time he was on the phone with my mom, he never took ownership of the problem.
They were very friendly but they damaged many pieces of expensive furniture. They gave us only $300 that didn’t compensate for the damages. We won’t use them again. After I placed my review two years ago, someone managed to take it down; arguing that we never hired them. Fortunately I found the invoice. Before I gave them 2 stars. Now, because they lied to people and accused clients of lying, I’d give them zero if I could.

My husband and I hired this company to move us from our home into storage and then to our final destination. We purchased insurance, but when many things were broken we made a phone call to William. He told us he couldn't help and insurance wouldn't cover our damages. Some of the items that were broken were heirlooms. I was heartbroken. Beware, Don't hire this company. It was a horrible experience.
Ms. Larson, we're sad to hear that you are unhappy with our performance. We offer professional packing services to all of our clients. Unfortunately no mover is able to offer protection on boxes packed by owner, as we have no control over how things have been padded.

Nas and Jeremy came over and did a full move pack. They were quick and efficient, kind and courteous. All of our stuff (a 2,600 sq feet house) was packed in 3 hours and done super well. They came back the next day with Simon and the three of them moved us into a house and storage unit. We were impressed with their moving skills - they wrapped everything really well and didn’t hit one door or wall as they moved. They were sweet and even helped us move stuff around at the house.

Capital Moving was able to schedule my move for my desired date of 12/22/22 on short notice and for a good price. All my belongings were in a storage unit, packed and ready to go, and they were prompt and efficient. The service was great except for a minor setback. The crew that loaded the moving truck did not want to continue working because a rainstorm was in progress and they felt it was unsafe to unload it.
