I hate to leave a bad review, but I had a terrible experience with Charm City Movers and strongly recommend that you look for another company. My initial impression was good. Their office called me to go over the itemized list and to review the layouts of both places to ensure an accurate quote. My old place was on the 3rd floor, so on my original request, I put 3 flights of stairs. The person I spoke to, Felix, told me that she was changing it to 1 flight of stairs since there were no turns.
This one is a rough one. My name is Felix and I have worked with CCM for 30 years. I am well versed with our program and can’t imagine any circumstance where I would lower someone’s flights of stairs in order to book a move.
I moved with Charm City Movers about a year ago and had an overall horrible experience, very similar to those with low-star reviews. It was my first time moving with movers, so I did not realize exactly how horrible this experience was until yesterday, when I moved again with different company that was phenomenal. During my move, my Amazon Fire Stick, along with an entire box of clothing, went missing.
Called Friday to have items moved on Sunday, verbal agreement made to move items and come Sunday no one shows up. Called the office about 10 times. No answer. Company management is either incompetent or dumb. Use another moving company.
I have no record of this gentleman ever calling our company. If we had booked a move with him there would have been address and contact info on a booking quote. If he is not in our system he didn't call.
The second time I moved, I used charm city movers again, because they did a great job the first time. The second time not as much. They left two of my items behind, and then when I mentioned that they were missing (moving from a one bedroom apartment building, so not moving that much stuff!), they made me go back and look for them. I found one item still in the hallway, but my BEDFRAME never made it to my new home. Even though I watched them carry it out of my apartment.
This review is no fabrication. We blew it with Rachel. Unfortunately, I never saw the replacement but I made an assumption that it was in great condition as they usually are. I never even thought about dust and animal hair.
f -1 was an option that’s what I have chosen. Not everything was going to be removed from the apartment only my specific belongings . the move was somewhat a bittersweet affair, and I probably was a little more emotional than usual, one of the movers asked if he might, if he could ride with me back to my parents and moving would follow us,, 40 min ride, in which my furniture was going to be taken to. I thought myself weird but OK.
This review is so ridiculous that this will be my only response. I will not get into a battle of words. When I contacted Gen, she told me a safe was stolen. I told here she needed to call the police, get a report, and email me a description of what had happened. She never did.
This is the worst moving company in Maryland. The movers arrived with a very large white truck with no company logo. The movers had no uniforms or t-shirts with identifying company name/logo. The driver told me, as soon as they had arrive that they accepted tips, unbelievable!! I caught one of the movers (the driver) going through my dresser drawers. Also, the move to my new residence was about three to four miles away and had taken my family members and I about 15 minutes to drive there.
Seriously? There is no way this is a real review. This is not CCM, we have had no phone call regarding damage and our men do not go through drawers. There are many fake reviews on google so be careful when you read them.
DO NOT USE CHARM CITY MOVERS (ccm). Bottom line: for a company that offers a guarantee price, you WILL NOT get a guarantee from them, and you WILL receive poor customer service. I emailed ccm telling them about all of the furniture that I had and that I was looking to move on 8/13/2016. They told me that they have a minimum price of $400 and based on our conversation and my email, I had so little furniture that they could move one of my TV’s (I was willing to move both to save $) plus all my furniture and I still…
I was recommended this company by a trusted friend. Their quote seemed high initially but after speaking to three other places, I decided to go with this company. They were prompt, actually a half hour early. No pads or anything was wrapped around my furniture to protect it while hauling it out of my house or into my new home. I had 4 movers and one drug my brand new mattress on the ground as he carried it by himself. There are 4 people. Why is anyone dragging anything? My bed has knicks all down the sides.
Thank you Lewis for your review. I love them all as even the negative ones are teaching tools for all of us here at CCM. Our men are trained to pad wrap on the truck as we feel this is the safest way to ensure the loader sees the piece where he can look for weak points and load safely.

In their own words
Charm City Movers was able to fit us in for a three-stop move (furniture from two apartments into a rowhome) on a relatively quick timeline and gave us a quote based on the number of items we planned to move. They provided detailed information on what to expect for the move, and were easy to work with when we sent an updated list of items for an updated quote the day before the move. On moving day, three movers (Chris, Donte, and Tyler) showed up right on time and went straight to work.
We hired Charm City movers to assist on a 1BR apartment move across town. We handled all the small stuff/boxes and they were to handle the heavier/bulkier items. I reached out to a handful of moving companies to get pricing in advance and Charm City was by far the most responsive of the bunch. They were quick to adjust the pricing when I made changes to what they did and did not need to move. They also called 1 day in advance to confirm everything was still good to go.
Moses and his crew, Andrew, Earl and Jvaughn, were my angels! I had booked a moving company 2 months in advance to move us at 9 am as we were to be out of our home by 4:30 pm. We were only moving about 8 blocks but needed assistance with the big furniture and heavy boxes. We were told the day before that they would be running late. The day of the move, they texted at 12:15 pm and said they were not going to be able to make it as delayed in Richmond, VA.

We had a GREAT experience with Charm City Movers. We've done the whole "move it yourself and hire college kids to finish off the really heavy stuff for $150" routine before and a bunch of our stuff ended up scratched. Not ever doing that again after seeing real professionals in action. NOTHING was scratched, dented, broken, missing after they were done, and they were so quick and cautious. They were funny and pleasant which isn't necessary but really makes the experience nice.
