Wont even bother using this company after the extremely unprofessional attitude from Jared Miller, their sales supervisor, and exorbitant quote. Jared quoted me at 5 hours of work @ $185/hour for $953-1000, to move five miles with a $28 driving charge. A $200 deposit as well to claim my spot on my requested move in day which I found extremely odd. With a three hour minimum (which is fine) the estimate came to $583 including driving charge.

A tale of two moves. We used Checkmate in the summer of 2019 to relocate from central Parker to far eastern Parker. They loaded from a 10x40 storage unit in central parker to our new home in eastern Parker. The rate we were charged (~$1200) was extremely fair considering ~8 hrs of labor, usage of their moving truck, 3 workers, etc. On average, we're talking about $150/hr (or about $50/hr per worker). Really, quite fair.

Update - This review is not retaliation. Yes, the movers who moved my stuff did a good job. Like I said, no better or worse than any other company we have hired for a move. We had a great afternoon, talking and laughing while working. They even asked us to give your company a review (we told them we would do this online). We did think it strange that they wanted us to write it down rather than go online ourselves. So, you post your own reviews online? Explains a lot. Plus they were all tipped well.
We moved Mrs. Jessica F on 03/18/15. On April 2, 2015 she called us to schedule her second move. We informed her that we were unable to help her with her second move for reasons that we will not disclose here so as not to embarrass Mrs. Jessica F. She immediately retaliated with the above review.
About 7 years ago, I gave glowing reviews after they moved my parents, and I've referred All my neighbors to them. Naturally, then, when we needed to temporarily move out to replace all the flooring, we called them. A man named "Robbie" came to give us an estimate. 4 days later, we were told our house was "unsanitary," so they would not move us. This is absolutely insane!!! We operate a business here, have numerous people in and out of our house, etc. There is NO WAY anyone would describe our house as unsanitary.
I was not happy with movers spilling grease on carpet I spoke to Jared and he got upset I was bringing it to their attention and hung up on me. I was charged $2200 I was requested to make a list of things that needed moved. When movers arrived most of the items they said they “can’t” I asked to be charged different card than the one on my deposit. Jared confirmed he would do this. He didn’t and got mad when I asked him to refund and put on the card requested. I do not recommend this company to moved.
Hi Deanna, we are sorry you were not happy with your move. When you called with concerns we tried to be helpful, and fix said issues, but you were very rude, and condescending, talking over Jared as he tried to explain to you what happened, and what could be done.
The woman that answered the phone was very nice ... but she was not allowed to have rates for the units. And the person in charge "will get back to you in 24 hours" Not a good business model. Sounds like they run it on what is convenient for them and not the customer.
We are sorry you were not happy with your experience today. We do not allow our phone staff to give out pricing because they are not salespeople. Rates can vary a great deal in our business. Our policy is that a salesperson will return your call as soon as possible the same day.

Checkmate was excellent in all facets of my move. Robbie showed up for the initial estimate and was informative, professional, articulate and facilitative. He told me exactly what to expect, and he and his coworkers followed through on the day of the move. The estimate was fairly priced and explicitly line-itemed; most important, it never changed/increased from the beginning to the end of my move.

Thanks to Checkmate Moving and Storage I was able to move all of my mother's precious furniture and lovely things she saved for many years from Colorado Springs to my home in Glenwood Springs. My mother was meticulous in the care of her things over many years and even had receipts from the 1950s. I wanted to make sure that they were packed, moved and arrived safely with no damage! So when I called Checkmate they assured me all would be fine! And they were right!

Checkmate does moving *right*. They are professional, motivated, efficient and, most important, take care with each item they handle. I highly recommend them! Prior to the move, Jared came to the house to introduce himself and provide an on-site estimate. He assured me he would be there every step of the way to make sure items were handled correctly and the move would go smoothly, and he was! We were emptying a three-bedroom house into storage.

Can’t begin to say enough about the 4 GREAT guys who moved us last week! I have been involved in numerous moves over the last 10 years, and my move with Checkmate was by far the BEST! Right from the start, when Jared came to our home to assess what needed to be moved, I knew Checkmate would prove to be a great find! Oh, and I found them on the Better Business Bureau website; always a good place to start.
