In their own words
Disappointing to say the least. I picked them because of the reviews. I emphasized the need to transport plants safely. This was not done, all of the plants were damaged in some way, 2 are dead, also the bar cart I have is now damaged. The 2 movers came, were nice, however I don’t believe the owner explained things properly or things were lost in translation. They brought a 20ft truck to a small 720 sqft apartment… which ended up not fitting in the garage like he and I discussed.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

Update June 2026 - This was my second time using Chesapeake Moving Company, and once again they exceeded my expectations. The first time, they handled a two-day local move of our entire household, and the experience was so positive that they were my first call when I needed help with a specialty move. This time, Josh and his team transported a used 48" professional-grade oven that I had purchased and wanted to ensure was moved safely.
Thank you so much for this amazing review! We’re thrilled to hear your local move went so smoothly and that our team delivered the care and professionalism we’re known for. Josh, Antoine, Manuel, and the crew will be so happy to hear your kind words.
I chose Chesapeake Moving for a long distance move, around 800 miles from Maryland. Despite not having the lowest quote, Joshua's clear, professional communication won me over. He and his teammate Jarett were a dream team—polite, responsive, and super professional. They handled my belongings—mostly pre-packed by me—with great care. They were a total of two, the owner of the company, Joshua, was there himself as one of his workers was sick and he covered for him.
Thank you for choosing Chesapeake Moving Co. for your long-distance move. We're thrilled to hear that Joshua and Jarett provided you with a smooth and stress-free experience. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we're glad our professionalism and personal touch made a positive impact.
Josh and his team are everything these 96 google reviews recount. I can honestly say our experience with Chesapeake Moving Co is the best I've had in the more than 12 moves I've made in my life. Josh is a prompt and conscientious communicator. More importantly he takes pride in his expertise and track record as a caring and competent mover and his entire team wears this pride as well.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed feedback! We’re honored to hear that your experience with Chesapeake Moving Co. was the best out of more than a dozen moves. At Chesapeake Moving Co., we take great pride in providing exceptional service, and it means a lot to know Josh and the…
The fantastic service from your employees. It was like an assembly line of movement after they did a terrific job of covering the floors and every corner of the walls .( in Hawaii your supposed to take your shoes when you enter any house in Hawaii ) but there was no reason for them to remove their shoes because all the floors were covered with this non slip carpet !!good job guys. This is my third attempt at writing a review about this company and its employees..
Cyn, this review absolutely made our day 🌺 Thank you for trusting Chesapeake Moving Co. with your move! From protecting your home to helping with the unpacking and claims process, Josh and the team were happy to be there for you every step of the way.
