City Moving And Storage

We used this company to move some of our larger furniture and because they said they move piano's. So on our moving day they show up with a truck with a long ramp. We mentioned that they are moving a piano and they said they brought the wrong truck so they would have to have someone come with another truck. They clearly were not prepared to move our piano. They had no piano moving equipment and the wrong truck. Fortunately we had our own company truck with a lift gate so we used our truck to move the piano.

Every time we have moved, I have been pregnant which led us to hire movers. I have my experience with movers, trust me. These guys were kind, professional and thought we had a great crew. We did not meet these movers at our storage locker, since they simply had to pack up their truck. Unfortunately as soon as they left our home we have continued to find nothing but broken, damaged items.

I would NEVER recommend City Moving and Storage. They claim to be dependable but they were the complete opposite. We had a contract well ahead of time for movers to show up at 8 am as we were due to be out of our house by noon. Several times we called when they didn't show up and got nothing but an answering machine. Then when they finally answered they said they were under staffed and would try too make it by 11:00. They finally arrived at 11:20 with 3 men.

I don't know if it was the crew we had or what, but we did not have the experience that most people had on here. It lead mover was nice, bit poorly communicated problems as they were happening. The truck sent to the house was to small to move us the same day, so we had to have a second trip the following day. We had to ask multiple times to get the information that the move would not be completed as scheduled, rather than being told as soon as they knew.

Worst experience ever! The movers were friendly and everything was good at the start until I got home and started unpacking and saw a crack on my HP monitor and bed bugs in a couple of my boxes. I complained to Bob the owner first he tried saying that he couldn’t find me in their system after I listed the guys who did the move for us he then asked was the monitor in a box I said yes he proceed to say no mover company would cover any broken items in boxes (what a joke).

Poor over hour and half late supposed to be 3 guy was only 2. One smelt of alcohol. They got told can't go all the way up the driveway the fail to listen and was in the work order they couldn't. As the hit my trees in the yard the guy tells me he doesn't care about the trees. No I care about my trees. Talk to them on the phone they were Unprofessional. Unfortunately Google made me give them a star. They do not deserve that. Run stay away from this company. No was not a divorce deal.

This was a bad experience. Managements reply to my review is mostly false. Yes the minimum fee was waived when we booked with them due to us not needing more than 2 hours & to my being disabled. However, we did NOT ask for the movers to arrive w/o equipment! We had our own truck so needed movers & equipment to unload. They didn't discount DURING the move. They only refunded $50 AFTER my contacting them via email asking for some sort of action due to the poor service we received.

I had a move scheduled for March 27, 2026, and the company canceled because of the unavailability of a lift gate truck. They were provided with all the information and pictures to make a judgment to take my business, which they did. Come to find out less than 24 hours before the scheduled move, they abruptly cancelled. What’s concerning is the lack of notice. It’s unclear when they became aware of the issue, but I was not given sufficient time to make alternative arrangements without disruption.
