Clark and Sons Moving

Horrible experience. Several hours late. Small truck that required 2 trips. Inexperienced movers. They set my mattresses uncovered on a public sidewalk before loading. Several items were dirt stained and damaged. At the new location we had the movers put most of our stuff in the garage because we did not want them moving the rest of our things. We moved it ourself along with a couple of things they refused to move at the original location.

Note - this only applies to my experience, which included 'storing' my belongings for a couple weeks while my house was being completed. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR INVENTORY! Because they do not. I am still missing a few boxes of items and have no recourse, nor was the owner very helpful in assisting. There were several items delivered to our house that were not ours - and so I'm sure another customer was also delivered our missing boxes.

They deceived me and damaged 5 pieces of furniture and my TV! Don’t get overcharged and let them ruin your belongings!! The owner gave me an estimate of $1400 dollars after taking my apartment details and ended up charging me almost $3000!!!! And damaged over 5 pieces of furniture!! Just let the pictures speak for themselves!! I fell for the Cross thinking they were good Christians and they ended up being deceiving me and damaging my things! Worst moving company!!

I move a lot, 8 times in the last 5 years, yesterday being the second in 2020, however, I purchased a new living room set after my last move. I also use plastic tubs to move. That was the only difference between the two moves. This was the worse experience (and I once had a mover show up solo when I hired a duo...and solo he was faster). The problem with this move was the guy "in charge" (apparently the operations manager btw).

Odd experience. This felt like their first day on the job. I just needed one upright piano moved. First off, they propped my front storm door open before they even had a plan on how to get the piano in the house. I expressed that I have a cat that likes to run out and they didnt seem to care. They also took apart the hinge of my door without asking, as well as moving white furniture with dirty hands.

I called around and carefully considered which mover and which storage unit to use when I needed to transport select items from a single-family home to a ground floor storage unit. I relied on reviews to inform my search, so I'm leaving one myself in case this helps others who need to be mindful of the cost of their move.

One of the movers was on his cell phone most of the time making personal phone calls with what sounded like his girlfriend. I could hear both men hitting my furniture on the brick walls leading down the staircase. Once they left my new house, I found where they had broken a wheel off a drawer and placed it on a bookcase shelf and put the drawer under the bed where it belongs. So they knew they damaged it and chose not to say anything. Several pieces of other furniture had scratches.

Moral of the story, DON'T DO A DEPOSIT WITH CLARK & SONS UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY ARE SURE YOU ARE GOING TO USE THEIR SERVICE. I did a deposit of $50 to have them do a move because I was desperate. They were referred from another moving company that failed me. I cancelled my move with Clark & Son with in 1hr on the same day. 1 week later, i called to get my deposit back and the guy on the phone argued with me for 5min about how i'm not getting my deposit back because they don't refund.
