D & R Movers

Editing: we thought we had, had a great experience for the 2nd time using them however; after going back to our old house I noticed some glass in the garbage cans- opening it I realized our pendant hallway light had been shattered. They never told us. I totally understand accidents happen but not telling us is so unprofessional - even after I tipped each mover well, provided food and Gatorade. Additionally as we’ve unpacked we’ve found various items that were broken and/or dinged up in the move.

When I decided on this company - I chose them because they were the cheaper option. Well, there is a reason why they are cheap. I scheduled my move two weeks in advance. I was told the movers would arrive at my apartment between 1PM-3PM. Not only did I take a personal day from work for this move, I also needed to be out of my current apartment the next day. When 1PM rolls around, I made sure I was prompt and ready for them to arrive in the next two hours. 3PM comes along and I have heard no word.

DO NOT HIRE THESE MOVERS! Horrible experience and customer service. They stole my prescription medication and tried to hide it by throwing my bedsheets over where I had it. They lied about taking it after I had called them all out. They took my anxiety and depression medicine that I really need during this stressful move. They reeked of cigarettes and stunk up my house and threw their cigarette butts on our driveway. I tried to contact their boss and I have yet to hear from him or even get a call back.

We were scheduled for a Saturday move with arrival time between 11-Noon. Every confirmation/reminder stated that time frame. We they had not arrived by 12:30 we called to check in and were told that we were schedule for 1-3pm and that they would not be arriving till after 3pm. Then at 2pm they called us to tell us all the moving trucks had broken down and that they would not be able to move us that day and the earliest they could reschedule us would be Tuesday Noon-2pm.

I called this company to schedule a move for 10/5, my scheduled time was 1-3, when I called at 230 I was told that the crew was finishing a job and would be to me by 3. At 315 I get a call saying it’ll be 430 before they get there. I say fine because I understand that all things don’t go as planned. They pull up to my house at 530, James the driver walks in and says “this is a lot of stuff” as if that was needed. Without even looking at what I had he goes this is going to be a 4 hour job!

We hired D&R Movers to move us into our new home, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. Before the move, I completed a walkthrough with Lee, and we reviewed everything that was to be moved. We specifically confirmed that all rugs would be included. Despite that, all rugs were left behind, along with numerous other items throughout the house.

If I could provide 0 star rating I would. I assumed from the high ratings they would be great. But definitely deceiving. From beginning to end. First, they were an hour late to the communicated 3 hour window. They showed up with no supplies to help with the move. And once we arrived at our destination we discovered 3 of the pieces that I had specifically asked them to be careful with was damaged. The crew that helped unload was astonished with how poorly the trucked was packed.

NOT PROFESSIONAL. BEGAN LOADING MY FURNITURE AND BOXES, THEN ABRUPTLY STOPPED BECAUSE RAYMOND DECIDED I NEEDED TO PAY UPFRONT! I booked a 2 man move and 3 guys showed up. The guys did a walkthrough presented an estimate based on the 2 man rate which was between $620-$750. They began loading the truck with my items and disassembling furniture.
