College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Charlottesville

The moving company took advantage of my elderly in-laws during their relocation. There was no clear leadership on-site, and the crew was unprepared. They failed to coordinate truck arrivals, which caused long delays. Because the job was billed hourly, my in-laws were charged significantly more than the original estimate due to the crew waiting around with no direction. The workers appeared untrained and unequipped.

Horrible experience. Extremely unprofessional. The 3 men who showed up spent the first couple of hours arguing with each other. They didn't get anything done until their boss showed to help them. They were lazy (I'm using their own words here, as the one "in charge" said this about the oldest man in the group) and did a horrible job over all. Packed very sloppily and left several feet of space unused toward the top. They were trying to "wrap it up" and leave when I found they'd left half our dining set out.

Your employees hit the side of our building, looked around the truck, and never stopped to pay for damages. To make things worse, I've contacted the call center and receive no response after 4 attempts. My next call will be Charlottesville Police to report the hit and run. It's all on video with the company logo proudly displayed. Call Neighborhood Properties and ask for Evan, I don't need the canned response you give for reviews.

They were very nice on the phone making an appointment, but things went down from there quickly. My father in law had recently passed away and his house had been sold and we had only days to move the furniture out. I confirmed with the phone center that the moving day was the next day and she confirmed that it was, and received a text confirming it. I had everyone there to have everything ready to go the next day. They were supposed to be there at 11:00.

We had a horrendous experience and would not recommend. We had a quote to help us load a truck for cross country move for 2 movers, 7.5 hours, $1100. For some reason 3 guys showed up and could not load the truck in any common sense way. We had to ask them multiple times to load heavy stuff on the bottom, to use the moving blankets and use ratchet straps (that WE provided) and they couldn't do that. Our walls suffered deep gouges in them because they didn't wrap our wood furniture.

We used CHHJ to pack our moving truck and had a terrible experience. When I called them to find out if they could pack our truck for our move, I specified that we were paying based on the space we used, and asked if their team could efficiently and effectively pack a truck for a long-distance move. The manager assured me that he would send his "long-distance moving team" who would pack the truck securely, and in addition they would bring extra supplies (moving blankets, straps) in case we needed them.

Awful from the very beginning. First off, I was promised three men and only two showed up. I paid for a tv box which they didn’t have. They complained about us being on the 4th floor of an apartment complex first off when they arrived and then they wanted us to sign paperwork. We politely told them we would read it over first and then sign it. They then went back to the truck and called the office and told them we wouldn’t sign the paper work.

I would have not rated this any stars at all if I could. I called looking for quotes to move a large piece of furniture, which would take about 15 minutes to handle. I was told that they could give general quotes but a supervisor needed to come out and look. We set up a general time for the supervisor to come out the next day and I gave the info needed. That was almost a week ago and I still have not heard from anyone. I will not be utilizing or recommending these guys at all in the future.
