College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Levittown

After causing severe damage to my Kitchen Aid refrigerator, by shoving through a door that it didn’t fit and dragging the storm door latch from one corner to another, I was basically told it’s too expensive to repair and they wouldn’t do it. After asking more questions, I was then told I would be paid the additional insurance I purchased as well as having someone come out with a dent repair kit to try to fix it. I received a partial payment for the insurance amount.

Scheduled a move with the company a few weeks ago. I was told during the phone call that blankets and wrap are included in the move. I only have big furniture to move. No boxes, no bins, just a quick and simple move. My window was 9-10 for pickup they showed up late and asked if I wanted my stuff wrapped? What it’s included, well when you call the number it’s in Florida and apparently they don’t relay what needs to be done during the job with the local “office”.

Extremely disgusted with this service before we even moved, we discussed with the managers or owner are move and how big A job it is. That we had lots of fragile things that belong to the business and a lot of things that were valuable items were stolen. We’re not talking cheap items. We’re talking Louis Vuitton Versace suitcase of clothes that were brand new not to mention expensive items that they broke.

So my one star review is due to simply bad customer service. They took on a job (moving a safe down a set of step) in which Jeff came to the house and assured us after confirming they could "complete" the job that it was in fact possible. So in the mean time I had a contractor complete other work that was based off the fact the safe could be moved and honestly it wasn't that hard of a job so I didn't even consider the possibility they would just give up so easily.

Unreliable and Unresponsive. Booked a simple junk removal service 3 weeks in advance online, a single full sized futon and frame. Confirmed the appointment as soon as I could. Was contacted more than 3 hours ahead of my original appointment by the employees and told they could either come then (3 hours early) or reschedule; I had to reschedule because I was at work at that time. Flash forward to my rescheduled appointment, and they never showed up.

UPDATE: tried calling on Friday after seeing the “owner” response below. The call center had to send a message to the local office to have them reach out. Never heard anything. Called again today (Saturday 6/14)… same thing. Call center said they had no way of transferring us. So here we are stuck with broken furniture and the company not responding. So much for “Honest”. We chose College Hunks to help us load our moving truck.

Was trying to purchase through Facebook Marketplace from Joseph Damiani, whose profile states he is a branch manager at College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving in Feasterville. After deciding not to move forward with the purchase due to the most unprofessional interaction I’ve ever had, I was blocked — so here is my experience and review. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Would give 0 stars if possible. How do you give someone an estimate for 2 movers, bring a 3rd, upcharge without any communication, then tell me all of our stuff might not fit because they had a junk removal prior. We kicked them out and rented a uhaul and did everything ourselves. The biggest waste of time for such unprofessional,money hungry company. Im still waiting for the manager to call me, so dont even bother leaving one of those generic messages you do for reviews.
