College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Raleigh

Absolutely the worst moving experience we have ever had. Three young men (one of whom made me extremely uncomfortable) who were swearing, burping and complaining about how difficult some of our items were to move. The quoted time was 2 1/2 hours - it took them almost 6 hours. The price ended up being almost double the quote. Furniture got dinged, wall had a chip taken out and they scraped our ceilings.

Not a great experience. We moved here from out of state. One of our crew members was good, I honestly can't remember any names. The lead member looked at our 22 ft truck and stated that he would need to bring in a 3rd man because it was a "full 26 foot truck." Our stuff was not packed the ceiling either. I am a mechanic and had to move my toolbox upstairs to my apartment, as I could not bring it to work yet. Of course it was full of tools and pretty heavy.

Scheduled session a week ahead of time. Received phone call to confirm on following business day. Two days later received request to move appointment time to earlier slot (by four hours) to accommodate their schedule and agreed. They confirmed the day before. Day of appointment received no call or text. Appointment window opens and closes with no communication. I call the national help line and they finally track down crew.

This has been the worst moving service I have ever used in my life! Please choose a better company because this company does nothing but scam you out of money. I was quoted 850 for my move and then 40$ for a tv box and 15$ for a mattress cover. Everything was already packed and prepared before the movers arrived but they charged me 25$ speed pack fee without any communication of these charges in advance. The only items they were supposed to pack were my two TVs.

Unfortunately, this was a very unsatisfying moving experience. We hired College Hunks to help us move from our apartment into a large shipping container that we had outside of our apartment. We had planned for the movers to help us pack and load the container. The movers were unprepared and inefficient. They brought only one small dolly and did not bring mattress bags or the tv box we had requested.

When I scheduled the help to just move furniture from one floor to another I was told I had their services for an hour. I was told they would put pads on knee wall in stairwell to protect freshly painted walls. No such protective measures were done. Once the three items that I could not move on my own were done in about 15 minutes, I was informed by the person there that they could only move the items on the contract for insurance reasons.

The two guys sent were very nice and mannerly, first thing let’s get that settled. But…they were an hour late from their latest stated time of arrival. It was one guy’s first day and he got too hot and vomited all over my floor, cleaned it up and insisted it was just water because it was clear. Then said he couldn’t get a good grip on anything heavy to carry it upstairs because his hands were slick.

The person on the phone was not clear and extremely passive aggressive and provided no help to get a general estimate for their service. When asking questions like what is your address I provided a new address since the last time I called 4 years ago, and the woman was almost addressing me punishingly for not knowing I was supposed to be giving her the starting address. Every bit of the phone call even starting the call with how can we provide you with a less stress inducing day was passive aggressive.
