College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Rhode Island

My experience with College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving was far worse than I ever expected, and I don’t want anyone else to deal with what I went through. By the end of my move, I was left with over $2,000 worth of damage to furniture that was all less than two years old—four dining chairs completely destroyed, a broken TV, and a damaged fireplace/TV stand. None of these items were old or worn down. These were things I put money into recently and planned to have for years.

The “college” kids were in my mom’s house vaping in my face talking about getting Dave’s hot chicken as they threw her stuff into her house and broke it. Lost some of my mom’s furniture and my mom’s couch cushion which I can’t even understand . Dismantled her furniture then day of move back in told us they didn’t have any of the screws.

Providence residents: I HEAVILY DISCOURAGE YOU FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Go with a local junk removal company that is friendlier and won't overcharge you as this company did to us. Moreover, College Hunks engages into despicable virtue signalling: we had plenty of donate-able goods yet they junked everything, and theil "meal-giving" program is infuriating: 2 meals offered on a $2800 job. IRS values a donated meal at 11cents! 22 cents donated on $2,800!

One apartment building to another that’s 2 buildings over, same complex took 4 hours and two trips….only moved the big bedroom furniture(basic, normal stuff) and a couch and 2 recliners. $200 an hour, while the guys text and talk on their phones in the truck non stop. Totally inexperienced movers that don’t know how to pack a truck. They backed into a car in the lot and caused extensive damage and kept us on the clock for a good half hour while they talked to the owner of the car.

I want to preface this with, I used to reccomend these folks to everyone who needed movers. They moved me about 4 years ago and it was fantastic. However, I just hired them to move my mother, to move a few simple things, a bed, bureau and washing machine. When the estimator called everything seemed fine, nothing was ever mentioned in the two phone calls or emails about unhooking the washing machine.

I’ve never gone online to write a review but I was so frustrated with my experience with college hunks RI. I was told I would get a quote for a junk removal job, the team showed up and looked. Over a week and no quote after several calls to customer service. I was passed form phone to phone, told that manager or corporate would connect and nothing. All the while I waited over a week to get this junk removed and now I have to start the process over with a new company.

Would give zero stars if I could! I set an appointment weeks in advance to have old furniture removed from my apartment. Was never alerted by anyone at any point in the booking/confirmation process that there was a possibility of them cancelling last minute not being able to pick up my stuff. Drove five hours to meet the junk removal team at my old place, then got a call thirty minutes before my appointment that they were cancelling because they ran out of room and couldn't get to the dump.

I personally wouldn't recommend them the KIDS are very nice i will give them credit for that they are all young so definitely not professionals they broke my daughters vanity n proceeded to tell me the owner said nothing he could do about it cause the vanity was made outta cheap wood the vanity cost $400 I don't care if it was made outta plastic you cant just break people's belongings and because u don't like what its made out of doesn't mean you don't pay for you broke then I personally go to the office and get…
