I would not recommend College HUNKS Moving. The movers arrived late, and they brought an extra worker that I was ultimately charged for, even though I was not expecting or requesting an additional person. That alone was frustrating, but the biggest issue was that they damaged two of my belongings during the move. I specifically purchased the $99 damage protection because I wanted peace of mind in case something like this happened.

I had a very unsatisfactory move with this company. I scheduled them to move a person in my family. The two people responsible for moving us stopped and had breakfast and filled up their truck with gas on their way to drop off the furniture. We had to call to see what was taking so long. Mind you we are being charged by the hour. And a piece of our new furniture was damaged. We filed a claim with the company only to be told it was not covered.

Terribly managed. Do not recommend using this location. They’ve dodged us for over a week in discussing our nightmare of a move experience. Not only did we pay way more than was quoted but we also had to get our own truck because they brought one that would not hold all of our belongings. I’ve just returned from having to fly back into town to get the vehicle i left because of this situation. More additional costs because of a poorly managed project from the beginning.

They were supposed to arrive at 11:30am, but they didn’t show up until 12:45pm. We requested 3 hunks to complete the job but were told due to my apartment being 1000 sq foot we could only have 2 hunks. They got started at 1pm. They moved EXTREMELY slow. We had to speak to the owner of the company because they were not moving with a sense of urgency. They kept trying to pack small things, when I kept asking them to please just get the big things I can’t move without a truck and let me get the small items.

Trash experience with the estimators. The job I wanted quoted is to pick up a 450lb treadmill from 1st floor location and drop it off 35 minutes away to a 2nd floor location. The first person quoted me $258 verbally over the phone. I asked them to send it in writing in an email. They did. When I received, it was $268. My concern wasn't the additional $10. My concern was that the drop off location said that it's being dropped off on the first floor. They were also only quoting two guys to pick up a 450lb treadmill.

Not sure if it was this exact branch or another DFW area location, but Joel and Elijah were so friendly and helpful and had what we thought would be several hours worth of moving done in 55 minutes!
