College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Spokane

This is an e-mail I wrote to College Hunks after a negative experience, to which I have received NO response. I can not recommend this business to you in any way! " Before I write a negative review about my experience, I hope this gets to someone who will make things right. Based on reviews/reputation – I called my local College Hunks (CH) in Spokane Valley to help me remove trash from a neighbor’s driveway (with his permission).

I used this company twice. The last time I used them I was overcharged - more than the 20% above the quote, whichi s prohibited by law - the movers were unable to properly and expediently address a blockage in the path from my building to the truck, which resulted in everything taking a lot longer, and then left broken pieces of my furniture behind unbroken pieces of furniture so I didn't see them until they left. Would not recommend.

They came and evaluated the pick up for my yard waste, we agreed on $155 for removal. Half way through they decided they couldn't do the job for the price, charged me $170 and did not complete the job. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Currently waiting on hearing from management to get a refund. This is not a business that should be going back on quotes, especially midway through. Then to SECRETLY charge me even more for an unfinished job? Do not give this unprofessional people your business.

I called to inquire about rates with intent to schedule help with loading a truck. They asked for an inventory of what they would be loading, which I found odd, expecting an hourly rate situation. They based the quote on cubic footage, added cost for going into the basement and garage (garage will be closer to the truck than the actual house).

First of all I’ll start with a precursor stating that we have moved several times regionally and across the country. We have used many different companies and have had a lot of wonderful experiences and professional encounters with moving companies. I called several companies in the Spokane area and the only company that actually would come out and personally give a quote was College HUNKS which is why we decided to use them. The pre-move process was great and painless, but moving day was a different story.

I made the mistake of briefly checking out their site for more information (too expensive) a year ago when I was planning a move and was immediately harassed via text, email and phone calls almost daily for a solid month afterwards. I specifically stated I was not interested and asked to be removed from their prospective customer list. Now, just a few minutes ago, I received another text from someone named Alaina with College Hunks asking if I was interested in their services.

Our first experience about a year and a half ago was definitely 5 stars so when it came time to move again, I knew who I was going to use. When I set everything up we initially only scheduled 2 movers. When they called the day of the move they told me they had an extra person and asked if I wanted to add them on because it would go quicker. We did this last time as well so I happily agreed.

I tried communicating with this company on multiple occasions. I found two of the three men hired standing around in the truck, I also saw both of these men throwing my stuff around. One of them broke a box of mine and didn’t clean it up, just left it there, I didn’t notice for some time, then they couldn’t move my couch, so they decided dragging it through the grass and dirt was the absolute best idea. Now there is dirt on my couch as well as it’s broken! No longer does it recline or rock.
