College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Tacoma

Did not have a good experience. We booked with them 3 years ago and everything was great. Service seems to have gone downhill. First of all, they sent someone to our home to get a price quote. I was told I’d get a call 30 mins prior to arrival. I did not get a call, she just showed up. I thought this was weird but okay whatever. She emailed me the price quote. A day or so later I emailed back with a question, and got no response.

These movers took longer than the estimate, damaged our things and stole from us. When I reported these issues with the company I was offered an insulting $25. I paid them almost $1500 for the move so they were willing to refund 1.67% of the total cost. This is ludicrous. Do not use the movers, they have thieves and will not make things right if there are issues.

Please exercise caution when dealing with this company due to their questionable business practices. After receiving an initial quote, I authorized the work, only to have them change the price afterward. Despite repeated requests, they hesitated to provide an invoice. Upon receiving the invoice through their customer service, I discovered the reason behind it. Since the job wasn’t substantial, I might overlook the additional charge. However, their practices are clearly deceptive.

I posted this review for the Seattle location in error. This review is intended for the Tacoma location, see below. My actual rating is 0 but Google said that I had to provide a rating to be able to write this review so here we are. I received a “service” from College HUNKS on August 13, 2025. This experience was absolutely terrible and disrespectful to say the least. The below is the review that I submitted on their page after the “service” and have yet to receive a response or some type of solution.

Run!! This place has terrible customer service resolution. Ended up with damaged furniture due to poor and negligent packing, staff showed up unprepared, we ended moving things ourselves and buying supplies for them. They milked the clock and refused to reimburse us for things they should’ve supplied. We had an expensive canvas painting damaged because they carelessly threw blunt items in the box and it punctured our artwork. They also drug our mattress on the floor instead of packing it causing it to tear.

I have no idea how these people even contacted me as my area doesnt even seem to be served by any locations listed, but I was in need of removal of some items. So after speaking with them a few times it seemed that I had them set to pick up my stuff, or so I thought. What I had thought we had set turned out not to be. I did get lucky and found the people I had used before and they came through instead.

I wish I could leave this awful company zero stars. I have moved many times in my life. This company is by far the absolute WORST. We booked them on September 11th, got a confirmation of the time they'd be arriving and where. The day of our move (Sept 27th) some woman from this company calls attempting to give us an estimate. Once we explained that we'd already been given an estimate and had a confirmation with them to move we're told they have no teams available.

My resident hired this company and they smashed my gutter, according to an eye witness. The owner Brandon said he had a video to prove otherwise. He said he would email the video. He now refuses. The damage is about $600. Update: I double checked with my eye-witness and he stands by his account. If you are so sure your truck did not hit my gutter, then show me the video you claim to have and promised to show me. At this point you are just a liar !!!
