Update:2 months later and multiple attempts to contact them, and still no word from them despite promises that someone would reach out. Our experience with College Hunks moving was rocky from the start. There were many small things that occured during our move that added up. Many things I wasnt going to fault them for, but a couple of large ones I could not overlook. To start with the somewhat forgivable offenses: –They did not bring enough packing supplies.

Had a terrible experience with this company. After showing up 2 hours late for their window and moving at a pace that I myself deemed to be slow they finished and I even tipped the delivery men. They took their tip and left. I went up to check on my furniture and lo and behold my wife’s vanity was left like this (see picture). Not a word from either guy. I put a claim in that day and the local office closed the claim without contacting me.

Hi Sarah M., (not Christopher) We apologized for the administrative mix-up on our end with the former male estimator who is no longer employed with our company. The woman admin who assisted was not terminated as she had no negative involvement.
Truly the workers themselves tried but their management set them up for failure. Performed a long walkthrough with the manager about what needed to be packed and moved and what needed to go out to the junk. Set up two different appointments one for junk removal and one for the move. Day of the junk removal found out the manager had not put it in the schedule had to argue through that and talk with who we thought was the general manager. Worked it out to get the junk out.

Had a pick up today for whole house junk removal. Estimated at 700-800 with the understanding that does not include labor. Come to find out the price is $1300-2000. We created the two piles for them of the junk needing to be removed. First pile was barely moved(ALOT OF STUFF STILL THERE) second pile was never even touched. Pricing not an issue if it was up front but for them to have not moved either of the piles let alone still have a bunch of junk left behind. I would never hire this company again.

The movers were great, but the pricing was opaque. Initially, I was told I’d be charged a certain amount, but they charged me an extra $100 upon arrival. Customer service provided no assistance, only stating that the extra was a travel fee. The receipt doesn’t clearly state what I’m paying for, making it a shady situation. They can change the price at will, and if you ask questions, they’ll make up excuses.

Hi Amber, after careful review of the photos that you sent, it appeared the fabric/stitching came off and unraveled at the seem. The chair is not ripped and was not caused by negligence of our team. This appears to be a manufacturer issue more than anything.

Tall Will and Ox (Carlos) were awesome! They are efficient, professional and most of all, concerned about the protection of our items as well as the walls and doors going through the house. I was initially concerned the movers would just put the stuff in the POD leaving a bunch of unused empty space. Nope. Right from the start they stacked items vertically, filling the POD from the floor to the ceilling. They even tucked the detached couch arms into spaces that were left from the stuff I had already packed in.
