In their own words
This is our third time using this company, and no issues until this time. They moved the few items we had into the truck quickly, and into our home quickly and efficiently. However, to get to my home, the drivers took the LONG route through heavy traffic. I took a 10 minute drive over the Veterans Bridge; their trip was almost 30 minutes as they navigated over the High Rise Bridge, down a busy George Washington Highway, and across the under-construction Deep Creek Bridge.

Scheduling team was great communicating my needs with their services and instructions. Moving team was on time and did their absolute best despite being one man shorter than promised 3 when I scheduled. There was damage to my 2 of my most important pieces that I communicated were my primary concern when scheduling. The damage report was filled out and submitted. I received confirmation. The moving team were genuinely apologetic. Communicated that someone would be in contact with me within 48 hours.

As a disabled veteran I wouldve made the move myself but cant. Had an appointment with this company a month in advance at 8am on a Saturday, called them again 3 days prior to confirm all good so far. They called me the day before (Friday) to confirm all good so far. The day of the move they were 10 minutes late no call. I decided to wait maybe they’re in traffic no big deal I have plenty of time. Our house is ready to move I had to be out by the next day Sunday.

Imagine the sort of men a company based in Portsmouth will employ for a zero hour minimum wage job with no skills required. Yeah, that's exactly who they employ. I just finished filing a police report for $15,000 worth of gold and diamond jewelry stolen from a bedroom while their two men were in my house. "So sorry that you believe some items were taken without your permission. Do you have video evidence of them stealing your jewelry? No? Oh well, see ya."

They arranged three guys to move larger items I couldn't move by myself, half the time there was only one of the three actually working while the other two just talked. Normally I wouldn't care except this move was being charged per hour. Two of the movers were arguing quite a bit as well using foul language. Just unprofessional. They didn't damage any of the items or the house though so that's a plus.

STAY AWAY. BUDGET SERVICE AT PREMIUM PRICE. Price. Thousands more than its competitors estimates. I justified TMAAT because they offered 1. Direct service. 2. The highest standard of packing. Pack day- 6 hours late. Upon arrival at our house they locked themselves out of their truck requiring dispatching more men to unlock it. The added men stayed to assist, so it took 4 men over 5 hours to pack (100% over the estimate). After finishing we found loose items and had the team pack them before departing.

I would not recommend this particular moving franchise from Chesapeake. We are a military family and have moved several times and I was highly disappointed. For starts I was very clear of what the job was going to be and was seeking bids; 4 br house, 2 POD containers etc. I was given a price quote that seemed reasonable and hired them. They showed up 1 hr late to the house from the scheduled time. I had received no phone call to let me know, I had to call them.

I was under a serious time crunch, I called this company and their availability was right in line of what I needed. Scheduke was fast and easy and everyone including the crew was professiona, polite, understanding, and a pleasant to work with. However they underestimated how much stuff I had when scheduling which is forgivable, I had to move a 4 bedroom home and they only provided 2 guys when I was told they would send 3 or 4. Which meant we weren't going to meet the 4.5 hour deadline I paid for.

Very attentive staff at the "command center" constantly checking in via text to make sure everything was going smoothly. Denzel & Daquan were extremely polite, efficient, professional, and punctual. All items were handled gently and larger furniture was properly wrapped for protection. They moved cautiously but quickly and finished the move nearly 2 hours UNDER the estimate. A minor problem with a piece of furniture was quickly attended to and fully resolved within a few hours. A fantastic moving experience!

Had a great experience with Kawan and Charles. They were efficient and took great care of my things and getting everything moved over without damage. Less thrilled with the administration side. The quote was for a pack and move and I gave my best description of the rooms and furniture and was quoted a set time. It seemed short so I offered to send photos if it would be helpful and was assured that it wouldn’t be necessary.

I used to work for a moving company in my younger days so I know what goes into estimates, coordinating move dates and assembling a crew. Two Men and a Truck moving company in Portsmouth is exceptional from our estimator Christopher who was very respectful and answered any concerns I may have had and actually cared which is a rarity these days and also showed up on time which is important to mention.

Two Men and a Truck was recommended by friends for my move, and they were more than worth the word-of-mouth hype! The office was great and very responsive to changes. The estimate was transparent, no-nonsense, and realistic. The day-of crew ended up being 3 men and the truck, all of whom were polite, efficient, and professional. Especially since me (with my arm in a cast and an ankle brace) and my 71 year old mother couldn’t resist ‘helping.’ 🙂. Ernest was a wiz with the tablet paperwork and explained every step.
