STILL WAITING for reimbursement for ruined bookcase. In August 2016 moved to Williamsburg VA & used the Newport News office of Two Men & A Truck to move furniture from a storage until into a 1st floor apartment. The movers themselves were great- working hard and consistently. It was over 100F! They ruined a large bookcase by placing it on the truck incorrectly: it fell off the top of the pile in transit and crashed to bits.

Not only did they overcharge me with mysterious fees that totaled hundreds more than the quoted rate, but they stole several items from us. Some items we found them trying to hide under tarp so we wouldn’t see, other items they came back later and stole. Overall I would not recommend these movers to anyone! Thieves work here!
Hello John, we are deeply troubled to hear this, yet would like to assure that all of our employees are respectable individuals who are thoroughly background checked and are held to a high standard of professionalism and quality of service.
It took 4 hours to move an 800sf apartment with everything packed, my husband and I could have done it in that time and saved $600. One of the movers lost his keys several times and apparently I paid for him to search for them. They broke our headboard because 1 mover tried to move it himself. The movers were nice enough, which made me feel terrible when they asked that we review them and waited awkwardly for a tip that was not coming.

We booked this company to move some furniture for us to a new house. They showed up and said that our house was too dirty to move and there wasn’t a clean path to the furniture we wanted moved. First of all, we were moving, so of course the house is dirty. Second, the things that were in the way were things that were also moving. A path would have been cleared were they willing to do the job they were hired for.

*** 2 Bed Room Apartment, Only Furniture no boxes, moved 12 mins, down the street, Over 2k with Tip***This place scammed me. I was quoted that there would be 3 helpers, but on the day of the move, only 2 showed up. The cost of 2 helpers were only $20 cheaper to have 3 helpers. When you are charged per the hour, and it takes several hours longer, the cost savings of $20 is pointless. Jennifer is a scammer. She lied to me so I would not get quotes from anyone else.

I wish I could give zero stars. This company completely scammed me. I was quoted for a 2-bedroom apartment move (just furniture, no boxes) — 3 helpers for about 5.5 hours. Sounds fair, right? Well, moving day comes, and guess what — only 2 guys show up. Jennifer called, said 2 employee were in overtime and they couldn’t pay them to work and another one called in sick.

Our 9th move in 16 years, this is the worst experience we've had. We hired Two Men and a Truck for 2 hours of work unloading an ABF U-Pack trailer, including an upright piano. Problems were: the movers severely damaged the piano due to inexperience and lack of equipment, were not aware of the other 1.5 hrs of work we'd hired them for (which created calls to managers, attitude, etc.), the piano claim and repair took a month, and the contracted repair company did a poor job (New Creations, separate review).

Avoid Two Men and a Truck if you value honesty and reliability (and want to avoid being gaslit). I was scheduled for the company’s second move of the day. Kim, the representative I spoke to, told me — verbatim — that it would take place in the afternoon. I planned accordingly: spent the morning moving smaller items and prepping my pets for the transition. Around 10:30 AM, I got a call that the movers were three minutes away.

I recently had the experience of using this company, and I must say I was definitely impressed with the service from beginning to end. First and foremost, the office staff stayed in communication the entire process and was quick to answer any and all questions with quickness. But I have to give the highest of praise to the gentlemen who actually conducted my move…Davone, Diamond, and Damien!! These men were very prompt, courteous, and professional!

I had a wonderful experience with a Two Men and a Truck in Newport News. David, Moses, and Zach were friendly and such hard workers. I let them know when they arrived that I was on a budget and could not utilize them for the full length of the estimate. They could have been upset about less work or slacked off in spite, but they hustled nonstop and moved all of my priority items (and then some!) in under the budget I had given them. It was 90 degrees and raining on and off all day, and they smiled the whole time.

I called a couple of places and had some prices that were all over the place. So I decided to do some research. I looked up the history of “Two Men & A Truck.” Actually a pretty amazing story! I called them. Their price was reasonable and the person on the phone had good communication skills so I went with them. The day of the job the two young men were about an hour and forty five minutes late, however they had gotten held up at the previous job. We had a dinner engagement at 6, so I was a little concerned.

Could not have possibly had a better moving experience. On short notice, Two Men and a Truck scheduled a move from VA to MI. The total time between loading Newport News and unloading in Detroit couldn’t have been much more than 24 hours. I’d be surprised if it hit 30 hours total. They were fast, efficient, and very kind.
