I chose Common Sense Moving because their quoted rate was lower than other companies and I wanted to support a local business. The movers arrived on time, were polite, and handled a short local move (10-15 min drive). The final cost was approximately $350 higher than the original quote. Losing a high-value personal item significantly overshadowed the otherwise positive aspects of the experience. I expected better care and accountability for customers’ belongings. I filed a police report regarding the missing item.

Hello Daniel! The only thing we “quote” is our hourly rate with a 2.5-hour minimum. That quoted rate never changes between booking and billing. It is also made very clear in the emails leading up to the job that we charge an hourly rate. We did not charge you $350 over the original quote.

Quoted me $900 and six hours for a move from a 1st floor apartment into another unit on the 1st floor of the exact same complex. Crazy. I know it wouldn’t take that long but I used them before when moving in here and it took them like 2 hours. if you don’t want to do small moves just ignore my request and move on.

The only thing we quote is our hourly rate and a minimum of 2.5 hours! Your first sentence refers to an estimate as a quote. We make a focused effort to clarify this in writing on the ‘booking’ page of our website & when we initially respond to the inquiry!

I moved cross-country earlier this summer and did a lot of research on moving options. Common Sense came highly recommended on reviews and Reddit — and they were right! I hired them to pack my apartment in Austin and load up pods for the move. Pricing was transparent and fair, communication was great (they answered my questions by text in the weeks leading up to the move), and on move day Tony and Donny arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and were friendly and professional throughout.

Cyrus, thank you for the review! We do take great pride in our ability to load shipping containers properly. Tony & Donny have a combined 15+ years in the industry, which is quite hard to find for a 2 man crew!

Don't miss out on hiring these guys. The example of supporting the right business - this team was literally running up and down the apartment stairs as they moved me from a 1br1b to 2br3b. They didn't miss a beat, wrapped up everything and handled it with care. I even enjoyed breakfast with these guys post move. If you're looking to move in the Austin area - I highly recommend Sam and his team for their efficiency, fair pricing, communication, and knowledge. Keep crushing it Common Sense!

Finally got my internet working properly and I couldn't get to writing this review fast enough! First, I found this company under a Reddit thread. The comments were overwhelming positive. So much so I thought it was the company ghost reviewing. But I just bought a house and my money is tight, but I still wanted my stuff moved with some care. I went to the website for a quote and couldn't believe the price! It was by far the most affordable.

Victoria, thank you so much for taking the time to write this review highlighting so many of the things we work so hard on! The hourly rate is the most fair in our eyes. Even if the estimated time to complete is higher or lower than the time we actually spend, you're charge for the actual amount of…

I recently enlisted the services of Common Sense Moving Company for my relocation, and I'm thrilled to share my outstanding experience. From the get-go, Sam took the reins, ensuring every step of the move was seamless and stress-free. Sam's dedication to customer satisfaction was evident from the start. He didn't just provide a basic plan; he took the time to understand my unique needs and concerns, crafting a tailored moving strategy that left no detail overlooked.
