tI would never use the services of Cross Town Movers again. I hired Cross Town Movers in Dec 2024 to move my possessions into storage. I leased a large storage unit and the unit was stacked 90% full. I was rummaging around looking for a few things late this summer and discovered the top part of a tri-fold East Indian wooden screen that had been broken off and cleverly tucked away. Mind you, this piece is a family heirloom.

They were helpful and quick or so I thought. They were packing my pod for a cross country move. They told me that they filled it full and I had no room, and from what I could see it was. I had to give away a bunch of stuff due to this. When I got to my new home and had the pod delivered and we started unpacking we got towards the front of the pod and found tubs and furniture that was damaged due it heavy tubs stacked on top of light tubs and boxes.

Update: Zero compensation for Cross Town Movers destroying my things. So much for their deep concern and desire to make things right! Original review: This company was hired by Zippy Shell to pack and load the contents of my clean, neatly organized 5x10’ storage unit for shipping. I hesitated because I wouldn’t be there to ensure things were properly packed, and many of the items were highly sentimental to me.
Good Morning Trish, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are deeply concerned about the condition in which your belongings arrived and sincerely apologize for not meeting our usual high standards of service.
We hired Cross Town Movers and Storage to move a single, heavy, wooden piece. They were unable to move it into the home the first day and brought a second crew back a few days later. The move was disappointing because the second crew made no effort lift the piece at all and instead used a dolly to move it into the garage. I was told it was too heavy (true concern) and would not fit through a door frame (patently false).
Patrick, we’re sorry for the disappointing experience. Moving a single, heavy wood piece should feel straightforward, and needing a second visit only to stage it in the garage wasn’t the outcome you expected. That’s on us.
2 hrs job took 3hr 25 minutes. The whole thing should have take at max 2hrs and 30 minutes. By 4:34 pm they were at storage depot. It would take 30 minutes to put stuff in to storage unit and 30 min at max to come to the campus. They should have been on campus by 5:30 pm at max. They came at 6:30 pm. Almost an hour later. They told me the reason for being late was because of heavy traffic. It is my fault for not going with them and see for myself.

Meh, they were okay. They worked hard and were efficient, but not careful. They stacked boxes on top of clearly labeled fragile boxes, then dumped them in my living room and den, ignoring the labels for where they were supposed to go, and left us to put the boxes in the right rooms. They removed a door at the bottom of my stairs to get furniture down, then never replaced it, even though I asked and shouldn't have had to ask.

Good, trustworthy movers. They did a move for me within Eugene of a 2 bedroom house. They were careful with our belongings, but didn't waste time. If you do your part and have your belongings reasonably boxed up, they can do the rest pretty quickly. They showed up at 9:00am and were finished by ~noon. It cost ~$600 for the whole move. They made it a cheap, stress-free move for my family. I hope other folks take this review seriously, since I've also had a variety of really bad moving experiences too.

This is our second time working with Cross Town Movers & Storage. In October 2024 they moved the household goods and furnishings from our condo in the southwest hills to a new house in the Santa Clara section of Eugene. They did an excellent job. Now, we are selling our principal residence in Northern California and will make the Santa Clara house our new primary residence. It seemed only natural to go back to Cross Town Movers to carry out some of the local details of preparing for the big move next month.

This was my first time hiring professional movers- I have nothing but great things to say about Wyatt and Anthony. They helped my wife and I pack up the rest of the things we didn't have ready, and then they very quickly and very professionally got everything loaded onto the truck. Easiest move I've ever done.
