In their own words
I'm glad other people had a positive experience. However, I'm sure they moved within the state of VA and not from one state to another. If I could give this mover negative stars, I would. I purchased the extra insurance when I moved from Virginia to North Carolina. They were late (by 3 hours) arriving at my new home and within a few hours of dumping our expensive belongings, they said they had to go. Upon inspecting our things we found nearly $7,000 worth of damage and may items missing.
Dan is not a nice man. Maybe rethink getting anything from someone who can be so blatantly rude to other people. Not someone you want to support business wise.
Overall I was disappointed with the moving services. They promised to protect my electronics, but broke my turntable unit. I witnessed the mover carrying it upside down off the truck as if it was just any old piece of wrapped up furniture. Also, the mover separated the large mirror from the dresser and did not transport the connection hardware. I have not been able to reconnect the mirror to the dresser.
There was issue with the truck breaking down the day before my scheduled delivery. I feel because of having to relax my items to another truck is the reason for the damage to my furniture. I contacted Stephen to let him know of the damage …
Not trust worthy... I was told (by Mr. Dan-himself) one price to move my things from their storage to my new place and was charged way over what i was told. …

Cesar and his crew were amazing! They drove 100 miles and showed up at 8 am. They loaded everything carefully and quickly. They wrapped delicate items, covered all the furniture with blankets and even packed up all the little bits that I didn't get packed in time. We had some machinery that they kept secure and apart from the furniture so we didn't need a second move. They were very professional but friendly and made this ordeal almost a pleasure. Anything I had forgotten or added on was "no problem" with a smile.

First of all, Division One Movers, Dan's Van Lines came highly recommended by a friend. And the company lived up to and in fact, exceeded our expectations. The four man crew arrived on time and skillfully navigated the three story townhouse and my over the top number of boxes of files to fill the truck. They gave extra special handling to several precious to us pieces, and overall were kind, polite, and extremely careful with our furniture---glass was wrapped, everything taken care of .
