Déménagement Alfa

The absolute worst experience I've had with any moving company. I highly suggest you pass on this one and go somewhere else. The movers arrived 2 hours late, causing them to get stuck in traffic during rush hour. They take their sweet time and pack the truck so inefficiently that they couldn't even fit the 4 1/2 I told them I had, so they had to leave the washer and drier behind.

We hired Demenagement Alfa for a move last week and were pretty disappointed with the service received. Firstly, the movers seemed either exhausted or in poor physical shape, 2 out of the 3 movers seemed to struggle moving even the lightest of loads and the 3rd complained that he was injured but kept on working. Secondly, the movers spent most of the move bickering about not wanting to move furniture and complaining about having to do the move.

Unfortunately, I had to use Alfa Moving because the company I was initially contacting was already booked for my moving day at the end of June. After a call with Mano, he was very reassuring, which convinced me. I was promised a professional move, but on moving day, I got anything but. The three-person team they sent consisted of one mover and two novices. They didn't have any floor mats available; they only provided 40 blankets to pack a two-story house... everything else had to be wrapped in cellophane...

Stay away from this company, that's the best advice I can give you! Our move took place at the end of June 2024. Several things happened that contradicted what their website states: the mattress wasn't covered, and while the movers were transporting bookcases, we had to ask them to put the furniture down and cover it with blankets before continuing. Furthermore, to speed things up, the movers asked us to help them carry the boxes from our old address to the truck, and then from the truck to our new address.

I contacted the company several weeks in advance to arrange for a smooth move, expecting them to get to my place around 2PM. They came at 7:30PM. The guys were already exhausted from a morning move that ran 5 hours over, so they were slow, and my move dragged on past midnight. This ended up costing me more because I pay the hourly rate, and it bothered people in both the start and end building.

Because last year my move took 4 hours with 2 guys. This year the move was 7 hours with 3 guys. Cost was $1,200 this year compared to $400 last year... Absolutely ridiculous... Even more, move was for the same supplies as last year. Only change was that this year was one hour distance from the 2 places compared to 15 minutes last year, but that doesn't explain why it took 3 hours more even if there was 1 more guy.

A truly terrible experience—if you can even call it that. Two men arrived and refused to move us because one was tired and the other was new. Our boxes were packed, everything was unplugged, the food was out of the fridge, and they just left. They said they would send another team, but no one ever came back. If I hadn't been able to rely on my friends, I wouldn't have been able to move the day before a funeral. I'm extremely disappointed.

Moving on July 1, 2024 Very dissatisfied. It took 9 hours to move a 4.5-room apartment out of the basement and into a 4.5-room apartment on the second floor. No work techniques, no organization, unsafe, they didn't use moving straps. Furniture was damaged, the contents of one box were broken, and another box was lost. The truck was filled haphazardly, and boxes were thrown in any direction. I have photos and videos to prove it.
