In their own words
A few days ago, we entrusted Déménagement La Capitale with the relocation of our furniture and personal belongings. Unfortunately, a coffee table never arrived at its destination, even though it was loaded onto the movers' truck. Lost? ... I doubt it. Stolen?... Maybe; where, by whom?... No idea! However, what I do know is that we're missing a piece that was part of a three-piece set. The dining room table was also damaged due to mishandling by one of the movers' employees.
Hello Mr. Légaré, we are surprised to see your comment, because yes, we admit there were some minor issues during your move. Unfortunately, these things happen. However, we took care of resolving the problems and you were compensated as agreed.
Unprofessional. Arrived an hour late. Didn't seem to know where to start, just wandered around. No one on the team was wearing a mask, which is highly unusual during a pandemic. I do not recommend this company.
I hired this company because they offered a senior citizen discount. I was responsible for making the arrangements for my parents because they were too ill to handle it myself. What a mistake it was to hire them! 1) The movers (3 of them) took twice as long as the quoted time, so the bill exceeded $1000, and I'm talking about a move (a small 4 1/2 apartment) within a 15-minute drive, and all in the same neighborhood!
Lack of professionalism, extremely slow service, and phenomenal incompetence. Following the move, we are missing many items, including valuables. We received no response to our calls or emails. They were downright dishonest. I recommend the pickup guys instead; we received excellent and fast service from them last time.
I've finished setting everything up after moving in. What a disappointment! Not a single piece of furniture is undamaged. The walls of the house were also damaged, and in some cases, a fresh coat of paint won't fix the problem. For example, when they were moving a piece of furniture into a room, I asked them to reposition it so it would fit, but they only listened after damaging both the furniture and the wall. I know a complaint won't accomplish anything.
I arranged for them to store the contents of my apartment for a few months, with delivery to my new address. The delivery drivers were inexperienced and rushed to finish the job in two hours because we paid for a minimum of three. They weren't careful. The refrigerator was damaged (obviously on the front), a bed frame was missing, and so on. Throwing out the furniture and storing my appliances myself would have been better. With the thousands of dollars they charged, I could have simply bought new IKEA furniture.
Very disappointed with the service. I paid for three movers, but one of them was very young, so all he did was fold and unfold the protective blankets. When you file a claim about the damage, they either say there's a deductible to pay (which ultimately covers the entire repair cost) or, if it's more than the deductible, they say it's not covered... They scratched the floor, the stairs, a good-sized light fixture in the wall, door frames, etc...
The move was done well, but the movers lost the legs under my sofa, leaving it directly on the floor with screws that I now have to put down towels to avoid scratching my floor. Before leaving, they confirmed they had installed them, but there aren't as many of them in my old place as in the new one. When I called the company to see if it was possible to have it checked, I was answered by someone who had absolutely no interest in my problem. He took my information to "do a check," but I never received a call back.

In their own words
The moving team was efficient, quick, helpful, and respectful. They arrived on time, and there was no damage during transport.
Thank you very much for your kind words, we will pass them on to our team!
Excellent service! They are professional movers. Good price too. Really satisfied!
Hello, I've moved many times in my life, and this was, without a doubt, my best moving experience. From the first contact with Mr. Jean to the exceptional work of the movers, everything was positive. Courteous, polite, and professional, they took great care of our belongings. The atmosphere was pleasant, relaxed, and even enjoyable throughout the day. Fred, Abdu, and Kevin managed to make this usually quite stressful experience surprisingly calm and pleasant. I recommend them without hesitation.
Thank you very much Ms. Michaud for your kind words, we will pass them on to our team present and to our salesman Mr. Jean!
I would like to highlight the excellent work of the team that handled our move from Mont-Laurier to Lévis. Although we've had some bad experiences with competitors in the past, your team completely put our minds at ease. Very professional, polite, and extremely well-organized, they greatly impressed us with their teamwork, coordination, and efficiency. Please pass on our appreciation: Thank you, Daniel, Alex, and Andrew!
Thank you Ms. Gauthier for your kind comment, it's appreciated! We will pass on your kind words to them.
