Déménagement Tandem / Tandem Movers

My friend chose this company and it was a big mistake. The movers showed up late, one of them spent the entire time on his phone saying he managed another company and needed to talk to people while he moved her!! The other mover did not speak a word of French, my coworker is francophone. She asked for 2 extra boxes for the closet and they did not have them. The 2 they supplied were dirty. Then another mover showed up and he smelled of sweat and body odor it was unbearable.

If I could give this moving company zero star, I would. This was not our first time hiring a professional moving company to move from one home to another and let me tell you that this was probably our worst experience. The movers were really nice and that was pretty much about it. Our move took SO long - a total of more than 8 hours to move a 4 1/2 sized condo in a 30 minute moving distance.

First, we went through the movers' process. They packed things we had asked them to leave as they were. We were moving into a warehouse and needed certain items that ended up at the back. It was an extremely long move for what is normally a move. The truck was poorly loaded, and we were stuck carrying several large items ourselves. The company we hired for the second move didn't have this problem with the same size truck. I called the next day to express my dissatisfaction.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them. Judging by the other reviews, my experience was unfortunately not an isolated incident. I want to be fair and point out that I never actually had the opportunity to use their moving services. The movers themselves may very well be hardworking and professional. My issue is entirely with the receptionist and the company’s handling of my reservation. In June, I called on two separate occasions to inquire about pricing and availability.

We had a BAD experience. We booked Tandem Moving the night before our big move, realizing that we didn't have enough help from friends to make the move happen. We got a van that, we were told, was large enough to move a 5 1/2 apartment including appliances but the movers were unable to fit our 4 1/2 stuff in there without appliances. When the movers arrived, we asked them to move the large things (furniture) in first and they refused.

Updated to respond the below comment. I booked one month before. So its not last minute booking. I didn't ask you to come early. I asked you to come on time. Coming early didn't make me feel good. It interfered with other bookings. The one star is for not mentioning, you charge 285$+ tax as a minimum charge ( your hourly rate is 95$). I told you that I only have 3 big furniture and other small stuff can carry by my self. I even disassembled everything for you. You just wrapped it and moved it.

4.5 hours for a 3.5 apartment furniture only and elevators in both buildings and a 7 minute drive between the two appartments. I had already done all the boxes in advance to alleviate costs so all they had to do was furniture and it was a 3.5, so were talking about a mattress and boxspring, small metal bedframe, couch, love seat, dinning room table, 4 chairs, some tvs and tv units and an ottoman... and i was helping bring things to the elevator for them.

We had team 11 move us. The move started off pretty good. It ended up taking 7 hours to move what amounted to a 4 1/2 apartment. Three guys came to move us. Two of the guys were great! They worked hard and never complained once! My main issue was with one of the movers, he seemed to be a manager of some sort. He started off nice but then started to get an attitude towards the end of the move. He bullied me to buy the movers food and coffee.
