Dependable Movers

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dependable Movers SF, and I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to think twice before booking. From the very beginning, the communication was poor. They were slow to respond, unclear about pricing, and gave vague answers to simple questions. On moving day, things only got worse. The crew arrived late without any proper notice or apology, already setting an unprofessional tone for the entire process.

WARNING - DO NOT HIRE DEPENDABLE MOVERS!! I never write reviews, but please I'm warning you AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL SCAM YOU They will scam you, do not make the same mistakes I made and work with this company. If you don't read the rest of the review here's the summary: they charged by ~5x the original quote, refused to leave my house at 2AM to try to force me to pay, caused ~$10,000 worth of damages, wouldn't return emails for weeks at a time.

An extremely poor use of $6,000. We hired Dependable Movers to pack, move and unpack our 3 bedroom 1,200 square foot apartment. What they did well: - front end sales and customer service - polished rep to talk with you - tech enabled quote/payment system - showing up roughly on time What they did that could be better: - spent hours indiscriminately wrapping dumb things like plastic vitamin bottles and empty spice jars in paper - packed everything in their expensive boxes.

They subcontracted my move, although they claim they don’t. I paid five figures and still took three days to pack, move, and partially unpack a 3-bedroom apartment a mile away. Cost 40% more than estimated, although we did a detailed walk through. An annoying bot keeps sending you texts throughout the move and nobody replies to your texts. To be clear, this is a review for this company’s planning process, not the movers.

I don’t like leaving a negative review however I would like to spare people from having the same experience. I need to edit my original 5 star review and also clarify that that was written BEFORE having unpacked everything. Therefore my original review was for the MOVING of items only, which overall was great. My updated review is for the PACKING SERVICES that I paid for. I am extremely disappointed with how my things were packed. Things were thrown into boxes, without that much care.

First thing I made the mistake of not making a copy of my quote. At the end of the move I tried looking it up and it was no longer there. All that was there was what they were charging me. I was told I was getting a special rate when I got my quote but I could not prove it so I got charged more than I should have. I believe I was overcharged over $60.

This was the worst moving company i have ever dealt with. We had to change our reservation twice because the new apartment we were moving to needed more time to get our place ready. The guy was annoyed with me for having to change the reservation. Then they gave me a window of 1-3pm and i called them at 3pm because i never herd from the driver. He said his guys were running late on the job and he would call the driver and have him call me. I waited two hours and herd nothing.

James the salesperson was polite and gave a thorough explanation of services. The actual mover were polite but I knew there was an issue when 3 hours in the had not loaded any furniture. I had a 2 bdrm 2ba plus garage storage that needed moving 5 miles. I do not have any super valuable items but they were wrapping them like they were precious and fragile. At the 3 hr mark I commented that I thought it was extremely excessive and we needed to get busy.
