Per the quote we were given, they seemed cheaper than Two Men and a Truck, and we decided to give them a shot. Unfortunately, come moving day there were a few issues. First off, right away there was a problem as while my fiancee and I were showing them all of the items right when they arrived, the head mover seemed to ignore her and only seemed to pay attention when I was talking, which seemed very strange and unprofessional.

I hired this company to do my move for January 6, 2025. They were a little bit more expensive than some of the other quotes I got but it seemed to me that they were trustworthy. Boy was I wrong they had three young movers they did their move and adequate time but they put a gouge in my bedroom wall, which the young kid would’ve never taken a picture of it, but I was right behind him and then he said oops I better take a picture.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone, especially if you are on a tight timeline. The movers arrived smelling strongly of marijuana, which immediately raised concerns about professionalism and safety. More importantly, they were not prepared to perform the move at all. It became clear that the owner, who provided the original quote, failed to communicate the true scope of the job to his own crew.

DTW Designed To Move moved us on December 27, 2023. What a disaster. First off, the two young men that moved us were not professional movers, just two young kids with no job skill whatsoever. They were very careless and caused quite a bit of damage to many pieces of our furniture. We got a new bedroom set last fall and one of the men dropped our nightstand on the way into our house and took a big chunk out of the top of it. His response was, well this will have to be replaced.

These guys bailed on us halfway through our move. They booked us for a 0.5-1 hour time slot, even though I have the yelp messages describing exactly what I had in my 1 bedroom apartment, with the owner of the company writing that we’d be booked for the 2 hour minimum. We hired them to carry our boxes/furniture down and pack our 6x12 Uhaul trailer.

We recently used DTM to move us from one home to another. The 3 man crew that came were nice young men, but it became obvious they were not professional movers. We had an upright freezer and a refrigerator that had to be moved from the basement. Instead of measuring the appliances to see if there was enough clearance to get them through the doorway, one by one they moved each item up the stairs and tried to force them through the doorway.

I had a very troubling experience with this company. After our move, I learned that one of the employees who had been working in our home grabbed and kissed my wife. He later continued communicating with her and sent her unsolicited explicit and partially nude photographs of himself. I reported the situation to the company because I believe customers should be able to trust the people a moving company sends into their homes.

Be very afraid!!! I have moved dozens of times and use many different moving companies this is by far the worst and overpriced experience I have ever had. Estimated low executed high price I spend almost $1000 more than expected while two guys worked very hard and I appreciate the move of the piano the other one left early and the fourth one took many many breaks and pretty certain he was drinking reeking of alcohol.
