In their own words
My husband and I hired O'Sullivan to move us from our apartment to our new house, and our experience was profoundly disappointing from start to finish. They arrived late and were careless, causing over $1,000 in damage to our furniture and property. In addition to the financial losses, they broke several items in our boxes, took two hours longer than the quoted time, and failed to reassemble our beds and desks.
Hello Katherine, my apologies for the delay. I just sent you an email. I did not see your last email to my receptionist. Please reach out again and I will get this going for you.
I would not recommend this company. Two Durabilt totes were lost in transport, presumed stolen. We purchased thirteen totes for our move and only received eleven back. Upon questioning the company, they sent us a picture of our boxes in a transport container, as if that proved they were there. It didn’t. You could only see a handful of boxes in the picture and we had an entire trailer full. We were able to recall what we had packed in the two missing boxes and supplied a list of missing items to the company.
Again, this is the wife of Alex S. who has already posted a review above, but continue to harass our company over every review site there is x 2 since they both want to post a negative review to lower our rating over a small damaged table and are not satisfied with the coverage they chose not to…
Salesman who gave me the quote was very nice but the lead mover was unfriendly, slow and made sure that the job took the entire day although a significant amount of items had already been packed/removed from the house and it should have taken significantly less time. They started out by demanding cash or a cashiers check before they would begin work, which was not made clear to me. After I saw how the day went I now understand why they would want you to have no recourse.
Hello Thomas, I'm sorry to hear about your experience and we apologize that you felt as if all of the movers were not working to their full ability. We all have our "off" days, but I'm glad that we could discuss the situation over the phone the other day and reach a resolution that satisfied your…
Bait and Switch O’Sullivan Moving seemed like a great company, at first. We are in the process of moving. In anticipation of that move, I requested quotes from a few moving companies. Ultimately, I approached O’Sullivan. I spoke with their representative, and explained to him that I needed to move out on a Saturday, have them store our stuff, and deliver it to the new house the following the Friday. I received a quote that seemed pretty reasonable and approved the move.
Your quote was for picking up your items and storing them. We NEVER include the delivery charges in that same quote as we do not know where or when you are moving. We have customers who tell us they are storing for a short period of time and 20 yrs later they are still in storage.
I was quoted a rate between $489 and $768. At the end of my move the price was $1166, way above the quoted amount on my paperwork. I had only a little over $900 in cash and put the remaining balance on a credit card. I was charged a 2.5 service fee due to the use of the credit card for the remaining balance less than $300. The 2.5 fee was assessed to the entire amount $1166. My tv storage unit was broken, my floor scratched and some items were left in the garage.
Hello Lauren, we provide everyone with an estimate based upon the information we gather directly from them. If a customer has more than what was divulged to our estimators, then naturally the job is going to exceed the quote. Sometimes these things are out of our control.
I chose this company because they have been in business for so many years. Figured they are reputable and professional and I could have not been more wrong. Told there would be three guys to help us pack and move and only two showed up. The driver Dennis immediately complained about the door not staying open as far as he wanted. Then immediately complained that there was a smell. Walked around muttering about how we weren't ready to move. Did not say a word and just left.
Unfortunately, this is extremely exaggerated. Our movers are very tough and have seen it all in this industry. If they walk away from a job (which yes, they walked away from yours), it has to be extremely unsanitary. They all want to work and want the hours.
We would have given them all 5 stars, but we subtracted 1 star due to one of the movers lack luster performance and his buddy picked up the slack...but then 3 more stars were subtracted due to one of the movers improperly moving our brand new TV from ABC warehouse, so basically $800 out the door!!! So all of you who believe in working hard for your American dollar...don't expect them to take responsibility if the damage was done by their movers.
As I mentioned to you in great detail during the course of your claim submission, your claim and all claims are determined by the type of coverage YOU select. The options were emailed to you THREE times prior to your move as well as presented to you the day of your move to make your selection.
UPDATE - 9/2/24 Still no word from the front office regarding a claim I filed on August 15th. As requested by Christine, I emailed her the claim forms including several photos documenting the damage that occurred in our home to a glass table top. I also printed hard copies of the claim with photos of the damage and delivered them to the business office on August 16th. No response from Christine.
Hello Cindy, my apologies for the delay. I had been in and out of the office. We are certainly not known for not taking accountability. We always address all concerns and issues. I know that some of the review may seem like otherwise.

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
Communication was clear and frequent when setting up my short-notice move. I immediately felt comfortable and confident with O'Sullivan Moving company. They operated very professionally from the first phone call to the end of the move. Wali and Larry were absolutely fantastic. They were fast, efficient, and strategic with packing and unpacking the moving van. They were very careful with our belongings and didn't bat an eye at the amount of heavy boxes and big pieces we had to move.
Thank you for sharing. We are happy to hear that everything went smoothly and we'll be sure to pass your compliments along to Wali & Larry :)
Very polite and caring. On time and very good price. I will recommend to feel free to get your moving done with this company.
Thank you for sharing! We appreciate you!
I did my homework up front using the Better Business Bureau A+ ratings as filter. I found three (3) local companies that I had bid my job. Each did a great job of explaining their quotes. This was essential to understand how companies charge and what to expect on the days of the pack and move. Some companies would not deal with packing attic contents and others were more than open. In the end I selected using O'Sullivan Moving and Storage.
I used this moving company to move my father’s belongings out of his apartment into a storage facility. The move included a large number of boxes, some furniture, and a grand piano. The move went very well and was completed in less than 3 hours. The 4 movers worked quickly and efficiently and wasted no time. They came prepared with all necessary tools and supplies. They disassembled and reassembled the piano at the storage locker without any damage.
Thank you for such a wonderfully detailed review! It's important to know and understand the company that you are hiring and their charges and terms/conditions. It seems that you have a very good grasp on that and read everything we emailed to you. We love customers like you!
