I'm sorry to say that this place has really gone downhill, I'm not sure where they took the wrong turn I suspect it has something to do with them going to this national conglomeration or something to answer their phones? Customer service seems to have taken a major seat at the back of the bus and continues to remain there for as much as I pay to store things here they can damn sure keep toilet paper in the bathrooms and unfortunately today I went to the bathroom and had no toilet paper to use, after I had already…

Staff is incredibly rude. Yelled at my boyfriend in front of our family and demanded he unload an entire Uhaul van and go get money for a month of rent we already paid. And when he told her hey we already paid but I'll be more than happy to run to the bank ACROSS TOWN IN OUR PAY PER MILE UHAUL- she continued to berate him in front of our family.
Tab, we're truly sorry to hear about this experience. That kind of interaction is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the values we hold at Downtown Storage in Salem, Oregon. Since 2017, our facility has undergone a complete change in management and staff.

I've been using this storage place for several years. It's clean, well maintained and secure. The price is pretty good when u consider other places that are outside and not temperature controlled. If that was the end of the review, I'd give them 5 stars... However, when it comes to loyalty and being reasonable, they suck! I originally had my automatic withdrawal set up for the 19th of the month, due to my work pay schedule. This was a couple years ago. It never happened.
Unsure about the side above the office may be much easier to access, but the side above carpet place is practically impossible to access unless you are there when the carpet place is open as there is a door that is locked. There is a key box to inside to get the key for the freight elevator to get items up and down. I often had to open and close the door on the second floor to get it to work realize it was closed.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They are a complete waste of time so dont waste your energy. Short staffed thats rude and inconsiderate. They use a 3rd party answering service that will give you incorrect instructions. Its horrible customer service. Follow up regarding your response which took a month to get...there was only 1 other person/vehicle at the dock. No one in the office. No one on the phone. Just me.
While we understand the frustration that can arise from scheduling logistics, we have specific procedures in place to ensure our loading dock remains safe and efficient for all customers.
Was humiliated by security and called a liar about having units rented there and also about how long I had spent at that location that day, i was then Demanded to leave the property while my truck was broke down and simply needed a jumpstart. After losing my job, I was able to come up with the money just in time to save our two storage units that the manager paulette and I had agreed upon. However, I was not able to contact anybody in the office for the 2 days before my units went to auction.

Megan was unprofessional. Raising her voice, and refusing to schedule me a time to gather my belongings. She refused to provide me with any information of anyone higher up than her, and refused to contact the owner for me. All around bad service. Don’t come here if you’re a person of color! YOU WILL BE TREATED RUDELY. Yelled at over the phone, and they will make getting your things back extremely hard. They don’t care about certain peoples lives. Save yourself the trouble

I’ve recommended Downtown Storage to several friends, because they have the cleanest and most secure facility that I’ve used. In addition, the staff have always been exceptionally friendly and helpful. The wide variety of storage sizes is a big plus, and today, when I called with an issue signing in to the website, Nora was very nice and quickly helped me with my questions.
