E.E. Ward Moving Company and Storage - Movers Columbus

It was a bad move. We hired Ee Ward and they subcontracted to Allied to move our furniture to Colorado from Columbus. It was a national chain, so we thought we were safe. We weren’t. Once we had a problem with the delivery EEWard refused any responsibility and denied that the company was responsible for any of the damages. The company referred us to Allied. EEWard accepted payments for the move.

We hired EE Ward for a cross-country move. We paid a high price to have our items packed for us. The packers could not have done a worse job. My grandmothers China was stacked and packed with no paper in between each dish. My high end shoes and bags were not boxed and wrapped as promised by the estimator and were damaged by their lack of care. I filed claims with their insurance over the damages and they denied the claim. Under no circumstances should you hire this company to move your items.

If you are looking for a moving company that respects you and your belongings, hire a different company. My initial contact with the local move appraiser from Melbourne, FL, was positive. He provided all of the information about pricing, timeframe, and communication. Unfortunately, the information that he provided was inaccurate with respect to the move itself. The appraiser told me that given my interstate move, he would request that the movers prioritize my move.

My move from Charlotte area to Florida was a disaster! They decided to use 2 smaller trucks instead of one and one truck had a split load. They off loaded mine to put other load in front of trailer and re-loaded mine. I guess this was the problem, Thousands of dollars of my stuff was not reloaded. In any case many large boxes on the back part of my load did not make it and they were not able to locate. I expected maybe some damage, did not expect many things not making it at all.

Newest update: I was never contacted by anyone at EE Ward, not effort wise, monetarily or otherwise. Among the items I couldn’t salvage: elliptical, weight rack, bunk beds, heavy duty storage rack and shelving unit. That’s several thousands of dollars I can not recoup and went out of pocket to replace. Beyond disappointed. They will ask for a 5 star rating but be careful, 5 star companies don’t need to ask for the credibility.

We recently used EE Ward to move across the country. Their customers service was GREAT until the actual move. The woman who gave us a quote was timely, friendly, and professional. We paid for packing and they budgeted two days -- the movers the day of were more than friendly, kind, and helpful. The foreman on the job asked the men to squeeze all of the packing into one day and later charged us overtime. We also had a few missing and damaged items when everything arrived at our new home.

This was our experience with E.E.Ward/Mayflower. They were one of four moving companies that we contacted 4 months in advance of our long distance move. The consultant who came to our home gave us the lowest estimate, and we also liked and trusted him, so we chose them to do our move, and asked him, via phone, to make the booking. He assured us it was done, and did not mention anything about signing any documentation.

If I could give 0 stars I would They were hired to deliver a bed and take and return a broken one under warranty. Refused to carry it upstairs because it was too heavy. We have the exact same bed upstairs. They bed company had no problems delivering it! We ended up rescheduling delivery. Called us a 4:55 the night before cancelled our delivery because they “lost” our bed. We tried to call them back they didn’t answer phone. Called the next day they said they got rid of it because it was “damaged”.
