They are okay; the quoting process up front and communication up front seemed fairly good. The moving crew was nice and hard working. They dealt with a fairly large and unruly entertainment center and managed to get it disassembled, moved, and reassembled in the new house, which I was impressed with. Had a poor experience moving locally, last year. Some of the crew was good, but when we opened up the stuff, some of our emotionally valuable things were broken, which could not be replaced. We were charged close to $800 more than what was initially quoted. We saw the reviews and thought of going with them but was a bad decision overall …hope they improve their business style.

We used this company a year ago and I've cooled off enough to finally post a review. They were supposed to send 5 movers the first day. They sent 4 and one quit about an hour into it and sat in the moving truck for the rest of the day. The other movers were furious at that guy. Made everyone super uncomfortable. On the 2nd day, the movers had personal requests for food including specific types of wings (mango habanero, lemon pepper and old bay wings) at 9 am on a Sunday after being at our house for 35 minutes.

Eastern will milk you for your full estimated price, as well as overcharge for transit to and from your moving locations. We received an estimate for a 6-hour move and did the full apartment walkthrough over video chat. In order to attempt to save a little money, the day before we made 3 trips taking boxes with a pick-up truck, and also a separate trip to move one of our 55" TVs. The movers ended up taking their sweet time and brought us right to the 6-hour estimate anyway.

Eastern moved us twice: once into their own storage facility and again out of storage into a new home. I wouldn't recommend them. The first crew was full of kids; one got sick mid-day and couldn't do much at all. They took nearly twice as long as the estimated time. I was grateful Eastern didn't charge us more for the estimate .... until they did. Without any warning, they increased our monthly storage rate from $400 to $450.

I scheduled this move for my elderly in laws and for the most part things went smoothly. Their sofa; however, was damaged by the movers. When I tried to get the sofa repaired through Eastern I was given the run around, and they did not actively help me find someone to repair it other than a person in PA. I was told by their furniture repair shop that they require the sofa be taken to them, this would have left my 80yr old+ in laws without one for the holidays. When I asked for options, Eastern had none to offer.

Hired Eastern Movers because I needed a moving company that offered storage as well and thought they would be cheaper than using Pods. Mistake #1. Tim showed up to give me an estimate and even said he was estimating high. The day of the move, they called at 8am to say they were on the way. Showed up an hour later eventhough they're located 15 minutes away. 2 out of the 3 guys hustled to get everything out and we're done in 3 hours but charged for 5 hours for their "travel time".

Watch Your Feet! Not only did this company manage to crack the foot of my couch, they also managed to do damage to the foot of an antique chest of drawers that I specifically asked them to be extra careful with. I was assured by Mike, the sales person, and James, the crew manager, that they would take care of this valuable and sentimental piece of furniture. However, when they were bringing it up the stairs, they cracked the rear foot of the piece.
