My daughter (single mom) used this company last weekend. They were not professional at all. Were not wearing appropriate footwear and were not even wearing their sneakers proper just slipped on, 1 guy ended up falling off the truck and was hurt so waited for another guy to show. They were very rough with her stuff and in the end ended up breaking 2 flat screen tvs. The non experienced movers were arguing with each other and asked my daughter for cigarettes.
My moving experience wasn’t great. First of all, they didn’t bring a big enough truck (U-Haul) so they couldn’t fit everything in it. We had to get a U-Haul trailer plus 3 loads in trucks that we had to do ourselves. They took a super long time taking a lot of breaks, granted it was super hot out so I get it, BUT you are paying $135 per hour which they charged for the full time. They charge you for everything, shrink wrap that they used, tape that they used.
Note that this is for a 650 sq ft apartment 2 berm move to 2 story condo. I paid 345 to have some belongings packed down as I couldn’t do it myself due to health conditions and a recent accident. Instead a 16 yr old and older gentleman wrapped furniture that is normally done on moving day as part of the move and the items I needed packed were largely ignored. Of note, all clothing in closets all suitcases were moved by family and all very fragile items were also moved and or boxed ahead of the pack down.
If i could give zero stars I would. Horrible communication - no follow up on my booking day prior or day of to confirm. I ended up calling them around 10am to make sure they were still coming between 1230-130pm - he assured me theyd be there "100%". No one had shown up or called around 140pm so I called back. They said they were busy and he'd check with the movers and call me back. No call back. Called again around 230pm he said they had 7 moves and they would be there within a 2-3hr window.
Worst moving company. Hired to move 3 bedroom house for an elderly lady, easy move, and they sent 3 of the laziest movers who wouldn't bring items into the home, causing teenagers to move the items into the house. When the owner was called out for this, went off as a diva making excuses for his inept helpers. Movers were on site 9 am and at 5:30 pm they only moved half the home leaving 3/4 of a 26 foot trailer needing to be empty. Talk about hard working movers!!
They broke a dresser and have NOT responded to fixing the issue and it’s been several times I’ve contacted ABE by text. I am beyond angry. Respond please because you moved me on August 18th and have NOT followed up on your promise to fix the top of the cabinet dresser YOU BROKE! Abe you have not followed up after calling me two weeks ago regarding the broken dresser. Your voicemail is not set up. Respond to this or call me back.
I understand things happen but to not only to break a 65 inch tv and a 30 inch tv but to have no customer service afterwards and to be brusque on the phone and say I broke them myself is completely unacceptable. I was willing to bypass the movers going to the wrong address and coming over an hour late amongst the other things that went wrong but not anymore. I will make sure this doesnt happen to someone else and have spread the word about this company. Do not use them!
They're currently moving out our neighbors in our apartment building. I understand moving can be noisy but there no need to wrap everything loud as day in the hallway by someone else's doors instead of the apartment theyre moving out. Just do it inside their apartment. Be mindful of others spaces!
