In their own words
I've been toying with writing this review for a while now. In doing so I am foregoing my claim settlement with El Cheapo for damage done to my furniture in the move. I believe the reviews of this company are artificially inflated due to their absolutely unreasonable release policy. If El Cheapo damages something in your move, and you wish to be compensated for it, you must sign off on a disclosure indicating you will not publicly denounce the company before they release the funds [photo attached].
Very bad experience, don't use these movers. Our real estate agent booked El Cheapo Mover to help us move from our old condo to our new house within 10 mins drive. We reserved the elevator from 1PM to 3:30PM and the movers were supposed to arrive at 1PM. They didn't show up on time and didn't even bother calling. I called them several times and staff were rude.
I used El Cheapo for our move at the beginning of the month. I can't stress enough how disappointed I was with their services. Use a different mover! I would like to start by saying that the movers themselves were great. Professional, nice and understanding. The management, however, is abysmal. Firstly, the movers wrapped my roommate's IKEA dresser before they moved it, but they didn't wrap my vintage MCM 1950's dresser, it fell out of the truck and a drawer was smashed.
Communication's were awful. They were supposed to be here at 3pm, 3:30 I called and they were delayed to 5pm. Okay fine things happen but 5pm turned into 6:30 which turned into 8pm with out any guarantee they could even make it. I had to call every time, they never called me to provide updates. I canceled them after they said they could not even guarantee they could arrive at 8pm
Update: I have contacted the BBB and this company has ignored the Better Business Bureau and the customers emails, phone calls and reviews. Proceeding with legal action. I advise EVERYONE to be careful of this company. Reviews are INFLATED. …
I used El Cheapo for a move on November 1, 2022. The actual movers were fantastic and were very kind and efficient. However, a few days after my move I started to wake up with bedbug bites (I've had them in the past so am very familiar with …
10 minutes before we were expecting El Cheapo movers to come, we got a call saying the movers were delayed with another move and wouldn’t be able to come till 3.5 hours later or the next day. We had booked elevators, a cleaning service and …
Knew I was taking a chance with them since I’ve heard horror stories, but did it anyways. Let’s just say, lesson learned. They were so rude, careless, and unprofessional. It was such an incredibly disappointing experience during an already …

Such an easy and friendly experience! The movers were FAST, yet carefully wrapped our furniture (which was very appreciated). They improvised to get a piece of furniture up over our balcony, which was also very much appreciated. Would 1000% recommend

I was extremely pleased with the services El Cheapo Movers provided. The two men that came that morning were awsome. Gary and Dymitro were on time, communication thru out the move was excellent. Took care of all items as it was their own items. Worked totally efficently. Their happy personalities were appreciated by me, to make the move without any issues at all and pressures of moving were eliminated. Just to let you know that you have two great people representing your company.

Our movers, Alex and Ethan, were phenomenal. They were incredibly efficient (completing the move in well under the quoted amount of time) and so kind and helpful. Moving is generally a nightmare, but Alex and Ethan made everything smooth and stress-free. We’re very happy we chose El Cheapo for our move!

Great experience. Gary, Ethan, Alex and John were all hardworking and super careful with my furniture. They were efficient and accurate when they disassembled and reassembled all the beds and dining room table. All done within the budget they quoted. Highly recommend and will use them again if needed.
