Six Moving Movers

I am not one to bash companies, but please read this before you hire them for your move. We were quoted for a 6 hour move and disclosed all of the items being moved, so there were no surprises on move day. The move itself took 6.5 hours, and that was only because we had disassembled all of the items prior AND actually helped the movers offload the truck ourselves, PLUS unwrapped all of the items. Had we not done this, the move would have been another 3-4 hours easily.

Would not reccomend. Over all everything was done professionally and well until the movers broke our marble table and we received basically zero compensation. We specified in our intial inquiry that we had a marble table. At the time of the move we were very adamant that it had to be moved very carefully. After the movers wrapped it up the table broke into pieces. Once we called the moving company they stated they had no liability for marble materials.

I am utterly in shock, disappointed and disgusted on how this company treats their clients. Everything prior to booking the move was disclosed yet the estimate we were given was way off from what the invoice was. When we questioned the invoice we were given a run around. We asked multiple times to speak to a manager and until today still have not spoken to them. We were told that the furniture we wanted to get rid of would incur a fee IF the items could not be donated.

Reno: Move out, store, move back. >> Easy to quote, book and pay up front. Added storage requirements and accommodated. Pickup was great. Everything packed and moved out well. Phone staff very friendly. Delivery not so great. Team friendly up front and protected the house. Would not own up to damage clearly not specified at pickup on a dresser. Blamed each other then original crew. Did not own up to it. Did not remove heavy dresser drawers and placed it down on newly finished stair.

I don’t understand all those glowing reviews. I had one of the worst experiences in a very stressful time. I had selected Six Moving because they were located just one street from where I was movjng, thinking it’d make things easy. When I first reached out, Melody was quick to respond and at first seemed professional. I sent a bunch of pictures of my furniture and she told me she’d send a quote by the end of the day. Then… nothing. It’s like she went AWOL.

I used Six for both packing and moving. My experience heading into the move vs after where in stark contrast, and based on how they (Zara) handled things afterwards I cannot recommend them. The packing was great, there were some invoice mistakes but they corrected once I flagged to them - definitely take a picture of the contract/inventory you sign! Their communication leading up to the move was also excellent - they were thorough and professional.

Would not recommend: They were late to their alloted time by 3 hrs, meaning we missed both buildings elevator slots. We were so late that the new building had to make an exception for timing. The company took 4 hours to move an studio apartments worth of items within 1 km away. Everything was already packed and ready to go before they arrived but they were taking their time. (I was able to walk from my old studio to my new place before they left the first buildings parking garage).

They were extremely shady. It took them twice the amount of time they quoted me (I was quoted 5 hours and it took them 9.5). They said it was because I had things that I did not list in the quote (which is true, a couple of lamps etc that I have never listed in moving quotes--definitely not 5 hours worth of belongings). They refused to list those things with/for me (as it clearly would have showed that it wasn't enough to warrant 5 extra hours) and just kept saying there were things I had not listed.
