PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Our quote was for $2500 and it ended up costing us over $5500. They came in demanding $6,000 and would only take Cash or Money order only. Very unprofessional. The movers were not prepared or professional at all. They told us 5 -7 days, when following up with Encore they told us it can be up to 30 days. Broken items and crushed boxes. We also never got a true weight on our stuff, just a guess. What can you do when they have your stuff held hostage.
Greetings, We are so sorry to hear this. We would however, like to clarify a few things. Sometimes when customers book with "Brokers" (which in your case you did) there is some confusion. First, you were booked through a different company (a broker).
I needed to relocate from Utah to Nevada for a new job. My new company would be reimbursing me for the cost, so the price wasn’t the biggest issue for me. When I talked to Encore, they made all the right promises. They told me they own their fleet, they don’t subcontract moves, they will allow you to measure the volume inside the truck to verify the cost, etc. I just wanted a stress free move since I have a young family and didn’t want to put the stress of packing on my wife.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY, IF NOT A FRAUDULENT ONE. Like most of the other reviewers who were taken advantages of by this company, I am so regretful that I did not read all the reviews of Encore Moving and Storage before I committed myself on a contract to move my belongings from Iowa To Arizona. About 10 moving companies called me after I put out a search for moving companies from the Internet.
We are very sorry that we weren’t able to facilitate your move. No matter the size, due to unforeseen circumstances we would have been heavily delayed and this was the purpose of the call as soon as it was brought to our attention. We are sincerely sorry. Encore
I cannot recommend against Encore Moving enough. Allison was incredibly rude over the phone when we simply asked when my things were going to be delivered. This company loves to say that your things will be delivered in X number of days when they mean X business days and then treat you horribly when you ask for clarification. I had calls go unreturned when I asked for updates on my belongings.
Do NOT hire this moving company. There were multiple issues with our move and perhaps some red flags that should have warned us of what was to come. First, they give a 2 day window for pick-up and will call you between 4-7pm the day prior with an arrival window which is somewhat annoying as you do not know your official move date. We ended up with the second of the two days. Our arrival window for pickup came and went and we had not heard anything from the company.

It is 11/17/22, and I still do not have my furniture. The driver that was supposed to come to drop my furniture off today turned back because I was told I would need a U-Haul truck because the Semi would not fit on the apartment complex. I am beyond frustrated with this company. This has been an ongoing issue for almost a month now. On October 28th, I reached out to Safe Ship, thinking it was a moving company to move my furniture from Aurora, IL, to Atlanta, GA.

STAY AWAY!!! This company is a total scam and so unprofessional. They recently changed their name from Midwest Moving & Storage because they were forced to after posing after another more established professional company in the Chicago area. We got confused by the two and when we hired this company, we thought we were using the reliable well rated one. From the minute the movers arrived (wearing flip flops and no company insignia of any kind) I knew we were in trouble.
These are the items and their value that were Broken or Stolen from my move that was delivered on August 14,which 2018 to Cape Coral Florida. J and J Moore subbed this move to Encore Moving then they changed from feet to weight overcharged then the delivery man would not let me view my things unless i signed and dated the delivery sheet they ransacked thru all my things broke and stolen: Opened up my sons urn with his ashes furniture dragged and ripped matresses etc.

I came across Encore via a broker. I was not happy with the broker, but I could not be more satisfied with Encore. I moved from Chicago to Huntsville, Alabama, and the portion that was paid to encore was more than affordable and reasonable.. The team arrived in Chicago to professionally wrap my furniture, and make sure that I had a parts box for any legs that came off or screws . Professionally wrapped mirrors for an additional charge as well as a TV that I had.

This will be my second move from Illinois to lake havasu city. I moved my Grandfather in January 2024 I can't stress enough how great this company was from start to finish. From communicating all the way through to my final destination OUTSTANDING. My second move comes this week my mother is moving to Havasu and like before the communication so far is there but a few questions still unanswered but I'm sure they will come through .
