The Professionals Moving Specialists

This was my third time using the Professional Movers. In general, they were - professional. They arrived on-time, they were efficient in packing, and communicative when they saw damage to furniture proactively. Two issues happened which will cause me not to use the movers again. First, our move time was misquoted - the movers did not anticipate the amount and took a lunch break in transit to the final drop-off. We were quoted 6.5-7 hours and were charged 9 hours (including the 45 minute lunch break).

Terrible experience--take your money elsewhere. We decided to hire professional movers to load our furniture in *professional* manner, but the job done was anything but. Boxes labeled "fragile" were put on the very bottom of stacks, and had complete collapsed by the time our move was done. Large TV boxes labeled "fragile" and "this side up" --boxes containing art, monitors, mirrors -- were stacked totally ignoring the direction of the arrows, on their sides instead of upright.

Completely terrible experience. Do not believe all these 5 star reviews. They tried bribing me to give them a 5 star review with a discount but I have issues with that because that is a conflict of interest and also these guys did a terrible job. First of all on the day of the move the movers were 3 hours late. Then they started packing and moving my stuff to the truck... During that time they completely broke my wooden table.

Complaint Addressed to the Owner of "The Professionals Moving Specialists," Jacob: As a customer of this "professional" company, I want to share my terrible experience with them. I rented storage space from them, trusting that they were supposedly professionals, but it turns out they are anything but. To begin with, they have a cheap secretary named "Lupita" who has a disgustingly bad temper. She treated me very badly when I tried to schedule an appointment to retrieve my belongings from storage.

I’ve had a lot of great professional moving experiences over the years in Chicago. This move with The Professionals was not one of them. A team of four movers moved very quickly, loading our things onto a truck for us. It was only later that it became clear why they were able to move so quickly: They didn’t use all of the furniture pads we provided; things that were shrinkwrapped (for $10 apiece!) weren’t even completely covered with the wrap—whole sides of our wooden were left exposed; boxes were stacked without…

I really appreciate the movers working during this time, the movers were nice and fast, however when they presented me with the bill that was almost $250 over quoted price, $650 for a studio apartment is straight up robbery. I will NEVER use this moving company again, nor will I recommend it to friend, family and all my real estate clients that are looking to move. Mind you I lived in a STUDIO apartment about 600 sqft so I didn't have much things.

Over the years I've experienced many moving companies in many states, and it seems like I am 0 for 5 on groups in Chicago. I took a chance on The Professionals per recommendation from some friends that had good experiences and rolled with it. This was the first time I'd be using movers on one side of the move to load up a truck only, to move across state lines to Grand Rapids, MI.

Monday and had a very poor experience. Barely would call them professional movers. I think I could have gotten about the same quality with a rental truck and hiring 4 random guys off the street. Crew did no inventory (I have moved 4 times with professional movers this is the first time NO inventory was done). I called the office, and the asked the crew to do an inventory and the did not just randomly put stickers on half my stuff and did not actually have a tracking inventory (it was useful).
