The rating breakdown
4 of the 47 ratings in Google’s published star breakdown for Encore Piano and Organ Moving are one or two star.
Worked out from 47 ratings. That is enough to publish but few enough that one more review moves it noticeably, so read it as a hint rather than a measurement.
Against other movers in San Francisco
6.4 percentage points higher than the middle of the 20 movers in San Francisco we can publish a rate for.

In their own words
Absolutely horrible and unprofessional. Unfortunately I cannot agree with the positive reviews of this company. They don't honor their appointment times and keep rescheduling and not showing up.
First of all the movers themselves were TERRIFIC, but the management was BAIT AND SWITCH on pricing. Encore changed the price at pickup despite having photos and videos of the pickup and dropoff site. Literally whited out the price on the invoice and raised it by $150 upon pickup. SCAM. Buyer BEWARE!!!! After original price was paid continued to harass by phone and text. Even the delivery guys couldn't believe the shenanigans management way pulling. STAY AWAY!
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
Encore Piano first helped me move my baby grand Yamaha out of my old apartment, and helped me store it & the bench for a reasonable monthly price. My apartment back then was pretty modern with new, spacious elevators and wide hallways. When I recently got a new Floor 7 apartment in metropolitan San Francisco, I definitely gave them an extra challenge that most piano movers probably won't even consider.
Encore Piano was very easy to work with and to communicate with for my piano move. We were scheduling in rainy season, which delayed the first scheduled date, but the communication with Alyssa was clear. I received both the exact request of what photos they needed as well as ample time to plan for moving day. I received a phone call 30 min in advance of their arrival. The team of three movers were professional and careful as they carried the upright piano up three flights of stairs.
On time, nice guys and professional, fair fees. The front desk also nice (Maria as I remember). The mover, Stevy, is very nice and knowledgeable of piano. He has been in this business for more than 15 years already and he looks pretty young. I will give Encore Piano Moving a five star and would like to recommend them to anyone who wants to find a professional piano mover.
Great service at a great price, office staff has clear and precise communications, moving staff are efficient.
