Evolution Moving Company

We were quoted a 2 hour job, but were billed for 3. They were supposed to be there between 1-2pm. They were misquoted on a prior job, which is understandable and is not the main reason for my rating of 1 star. They showed up at 5:15 and I received a job starting text at 5:18. One of the movers spoke rudely about my friend on the phone in front of her, because my friend ask them not to damage her walls. When I called the company, they said they would call and speak to him.

I hired Evolution Moving for a full-service move on 4/17. While booking was smooth, the execution was incredibly disappointing. Despite my extensive preparation—boxing, labeling, and pre-wrapping furniture myself—the crew showed a complete lack of urgency. What should have been a straightforward move was intentionally dragged out. There was an unexplained gap between me leaving for the new place (when there was not much left to load) & the crew arriving at the new residence.

Evolution movers moved me a few days ago and alot of my things was left behind. The truck was not big enough to fit a 4 bedrooms move. They told me I would have to pay again to have them comeback and move the rest of my things. They did not move a washer, dryer, stove, or a refrigerator or my kitchen items because I told them I was not moving those which is why I do not understand why they left some of my things behind if they did not have to move the usual things company move. I am so disappointed 😞.

I have gone back and forth about writing this review because I strongly support local companies and I know any bad review can have an impact. After a discovery last night, though, I decided to write about our experience. I reached out to Evolution Moving based on the positive reviews on Google. I received a quick response to my inquiry and Terry came out to do a consultation and provide me with a quote. I have to say, Terry is the absolute BEST!

I used Evolution Movers in January 2020 and they did excellent, had a good crew and were efficient, so I decided to use their services again for my move on October 5th, 2021. It was a horror show! They came in almost an hour late, then they couldn’t fit everything into their truck (which was less than what they moved in January 2020). They offered to come back in the morning and pick up what was left; however, it would be a new contract (which meant I would have to pay again for their mistake).

I was moving from a large apartment building to a house. When I arranged the move with Evolution I made it a point that there was a long walk involved to get from our door to the freight elevator, and that we only had the freight elevator reserved for a certain 3 hour time slot. Evolution recommended a 3 person crew which I was fine with and was happy to pay extra for considering the logistics. However, even with a 3 person crew things did not go well: - The three man crew was really a 2 man crew at best.

I thought I had read enough reviews before I chose Evolution Moving for a simple move. I had scheduled my move for 11/16 three months in advance and was looking forward to working with what I thought was a highly rated company. I was extremely disappointed when moving day came. An hour before our scheduled move we were told a member of the crew scheduled to move us had quit in the middle of another move, which completely threw our day off. Thankfully, another crew stepped in for them.

I went from shocked to angry after the team left on Tuesday. Although I believed I was hiring a team of movers the two men who showed up had completely different ideas for my move and neither of them would do what I wanted. At around the midpoint I asked how the move was going. I was told that the job was ahead of schedule and that the end price would be at the low end of the range.
