These movers were awful! A friend warned me but we had already booked and paid them a deposit. They broke furninture and railing/ trim on our house. So many of our belongings as we unpacked were broken or missing parts ( screws from a dog gate, a wheel missing from an office chair rendering them unusuable. .They Left a hunting knife stabbed in the top of a pile of boxes precariously and dangerously. The movers (save for 1 nice man) were careless and rude.
Horrible! Nightmare experience! I would leave a negative 10 stars if I could. I have used Firpo many times over almost 3 decades for moving and long term storage without issues...until... In my last move ( items in their warehouse storage to me home) there were NUMEROUS antiques were damaged. Paul has NEVER apologized or completed repairs on items in almost ONE YEAR. In fact, his consistent approach was to seek to shift blame for the damages and question how multiple pieces could be damaged.
I was a hard move, household and stained glass studio. Was told they had experience moving art studios. They were horrible, they oversold their abilities. My one star is not that they didn’t work hard, overall, but... I hired them to pack some rooms...they arrived about 9:30 and left about 3, saying they completed the job. They had not, and I was scurrying on moving day, packing what I had thought they did.
We moved out of state and had 2 huge problems. First, when our stuff was delivered, the company's only 18 wheeler drove thru the rain. The trailer leaked water (boss knew his trailer leaked) on our boxes! Second, the boss/owner/driver left before the contract movers finished assembling our bed. They snuck out before completing it! Why not? The boss didn't care and left way before that. Why should the others care? They may be ok for local moves, but if contract movers are involved, forget using them!
Greg, First let me say a few things. We appreciated any feedback positive or negative. You moved a year and a half ago from this review you posted. Not sure what prompted you to say all of this so long after the move. We apologize some of your items were wet.
The people who helped me move were very nice and got the job done, but they broke a lamp and my Big Green Egg. The lamp wasn’t a big deal, but the Big Green Egg was expensive. They were very apologetic about it and said that I could file a claim for it, so I didn’t make a big deal out of it. Well, I filed my claim for it and was told that I’ll get under a hundred dollars for it - when it cost me over a thousand. They claim that I didn’t have the right insurance for it, so apparently I’m screwed.
Worst moving company ever! Did damage worth $1,800 to my driveway, $575 to my landscaping, and RAN OVER THE SEPTIC LID dislodging it out of place. Asked them to cover the damage; after 2 calls they told me their attorney is looking into it. Two more calls and nothing happened. Then I get a voicemail from an attorney saying that Firpo Heritage asked him to give me a call regarding my property but he’s not sure what it’s about and to call him back.
I can not recommend working with this company. Once Firpo has your deposit don’t expect to get any communication or help. Between Zack’s tenuous relationship with the truth and unwillingness to take accountability for his mistakes and Paul’s total lack of communication I would certainly look elsewhere.

Don't waste your money with this company. Their employees call you a liar when you make a claim for damages. Even when you buy extra insurance..The BBB won't help you. Do not use them.
Michael, We are very sorry to hear about your experience and it is unfortunate your move had some damage to it. But your review is INACCURATE and is MISLEADING. You did make a claim and we reviewed your claim. You did purchase additional insurance. Those 2 items are facts and 100% correct.

Having moved many many times in my life, I hated the thought of doing it again. A friend of mine convinced me to call Firpo based on the fact that she used them herself for her last three moves and she thought they were fabulous! Right from the beginning Zak was more than helpful in arranging a walk-through with Chris to create an estimate. We needed to reschedule the move twice on our end, and they were very patient with our changes ~ worked with us right up until the final day.

We had Firpo move us from southern Delaware to the middle of Pennsylvania. They did a SUPER job! Their crew of 6 gentlemen, moved all of the boxes, took down 6 large sets of shelves and a 6 by 16 foot table. When they arrived at the new location, they had to drive over 2 hours, and they then proceeded to move all of the boxes to the correct rooms (we supplied a map to each room, and all the boxes were labelled).
Best moving experience we have ever had. The crew arrived on time, had everything loaded onto two trucks by noon and had us all moved in and set up by 5 PM the same day (an hour drive to our new home included). They came in under estimate and after a generous tip for each of the 4 man crew who were fabulous I was still under estimate.
We used Firpo-heritage for our long distance move from PA to FL. They packed us in May, stored everything for seven months, and moved us to Florida in early January. After my experience with this firm I cannot imagine hiring any other moving company for something so importantly. The packers were so efficient and so careful. I just opened my last box. I had a number of very sentimental, very fragile items (way too many actually). Everything was wrapped and boxed with great care.
Teresa, there's no such thing as too many sentimental items -- each one carries its own little memory. Those memories should be treated with the utmost care so you can cherish them no matter where you go.
