Fischer Van Lines, Denver Moving Company llc

There are many movers in Denver. Avoid this company at all costs. I stored a one-bedroom apartment with Fischer for two weeks when I first moved to Denver and used them to move from the storage to the apartment. I paid for insurance. When a dresser was damaged, Fischer refused to pay and eventually stopped responding to my inquiries. But the worst was the missing painting. That’s right, this company simply kept (I presume in storage and simply never loaded it onto the truck) a $5,000.00 piece of art.

Update 3/2024: I had such a great experience with them back in 2021, that I decided to use them again despite multiple reviews talking about a bad experience recently. In 2021 I moved into this apartment on the 3rd floor with stairs. I added two pieces of furniture in the 3 years I was there, a dining room table and a recliner, otherwise it was the same amount of stuff. When I moved in it was about $400 total and took 3 hours, with the stairs. They quoted me 2-3 hours for my recent move.

I didn't plan on leaving a review, but since they email every week asking for it, here it is... As if traveling across the country isn't difficult enough, hire a company like this one to do your loading. Placing wrought iron patio furniture on top of cardboard boxes and plastic containers caused a ton of damage. Legs went through several boxes causing about $2k in damages. Oh, just file a claim, I was assured they had insurance for things like this.

It has been a few months since I used Fischer and have been mulling over leaving a review. I feel that I should leave something so that other people are not put in the same situation as I was forced into. I would say that the actual movers were fantastic, hard working, and careful with our belongings. Backstory: I scheduled Fischer to have a "big truck" and three movers to get my 2,200 sq.ft. house and garage moved on a Monday. An hour after the scheduled arrival time, 2 workers and a "shorter truck" showed up.

The estimate was off by 400.00, the owner was condescending when I was frustrated by the discrepancy, caused by the movers slow progress. The owner initially said it was because I had not finished packing the bedroom, however I was done by the time the movers were finished with the living room so that was not the case. He then changed tactics saying that the issue was caused by not having access to an elevator key, something not mentioned by the person I scheduled with, and not listed in the contract either.

Anyone reading this review looking for a moving company should immediately move on – using Fischer Van Lines to move your prized possessions might just be one of the worst things you do, as was the case for me. I hired Fischer to do our most recent move – I’d actually used them a couple of times previously and had no issues. I guess I would concede that if nothing goes wrong during your move, you will be fine (which you could say about any company…).

Let me start by saying I'd like to give a very positive review to the actual guys that helped us move over the weekend. Mike, Scott, Alex and Mario are all great guys. The reason for the one star review you ask? It's because of my extremely negative interaction with the owner, Jeff Fischer. You can see similar other reviews, all of which he calls "fake reviews".

The company probably doesn`t care about one bad review, but I need to let people know our moving day was a debacle because of their service (the company can let me know if they don`t agree with any of my points). 1.
