I hired Forward Van Lines in April 2022 to move my belongings from Washington, DC to Boca Raton, FL, and my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Due to a delay in moving into my new home, I arranged for my items to be stored with them for over two years (April 2022 to August 2024). Throughout that time, I paid regular storage fees and the final delivery fee when my belongings were finally delivered.
Run from this place. We were relocated for work and my company paid for the moving expenses. They held my belongings hostage even though they had been paid in full prior to the move. There were multiple things damaged, broken furniture damaged floors in the house we moved from that had to be repaired before the closing and destroyed a rug in the home we moved to. They promised to make thing right and we got a settlement offer that was a joke.
Dear Dan, We always strive to take care of our customers and reach an amicable resolution. Note that all of our balance due on deliveries are handled on a COD basis as is customer in the moving business throughout the US.
Complete disaster. These guys were impossible to get in touch with, never answered their phone, and repeatedly changed the prices on us- they actually charged us more money when we had less stuff than was originally quoted. Also, life lesson- READ THE CONTRACT. They will verbally tell you they'll deliver everything in 1-3 days of requested date- TOTAL BS. It took them 10. Fair enough, it's in the contract, but it's still sneaky, bad business IMO.
Forward Van Lines was not equipped to do our cross-country/out of state move. Not only was it expensive, we felt terribly misled by their use of subcontractors (drivers and handlers). When we negotiated, they stated use of in-house staff. General communication was abhorrent and there were certain employees I finally refused to communicate with. The ONLY positive was our experience with the the loaders on the Miami side, who were professional, courteous, efficient and careful.
It is unfortunate when we cannot meet our customers expectations no mater how high those expectations may be. Although the expectation we had to meet with this specific customer were a little higher then usual there were defiantly some short comings.
They certainly have a great salesperson. When we received our estimate we were guaranteed exceptional, worry free service. Price was much higher than other company but we thought we were paying for what we were getting as we had a disappointing experience with another company a couple years before. All seemed to be getting packed well and movers were very pleasant. However upon dropping off they left quickly before I had a chance to look at everything as I had a toddler.
They straight up did not show up for my move and did not call me to let me know. The lack of communication was stunning. I have received a refund for my deposit, but they didn't even apologize in the emails 😳 They are also IMO overpriced and I was able to move for half of the price with much less hassle the next day (thank god). On the day of my move I called the office 3 times in the morning on a Saturday to understand when they would be arriving, they don't open until noon and I hadn't heard a word from anyone.

We used them this past May. We were charged fairly but it very expensive. We moved a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house about 5 miles away. In the move, a book case was damaged in the move (see photo). Chunks of the top were ripped off somehow. We filed a claim instead of giving a refund they offered to come pick up the bookcase, repair it and return it. The damage is on the top, so no matter what is done, it will still be noticeable.
WORST COMPANY EVER!!! Warning: DO NOT USE! 1. Pickup was unsettling & unorganized. Employees smelled like weed, I was required to buy an extra $25 box, charged extra for packing, and charged extra for square footage (of course). 2. Pickup date was 2/28. Provided 3/15 as the first available delivery date. Received a call on 3/15, informing me that they were just loading my items on a truck. 3. Deliver date was 3/25, 10 days later than expected, and nearly a month after pickup.

Best Moving Experience EVER – Professional, efficient, friendly and effective! In November, I got a new job in Washington, DC and had the need to find a mover to move my personal effects from South Florida to Alexandria, Virginia. After making the mistake of putting my eMail out there for five estimates, I thought to myself ‘Hey Knucklehead, why don’t you check Angie’s List? I am extremely happy with our experience with Forward Van Lines. Moving is always stressful and in our case with little kids even worse. The entire process was pleasant and professional. I did my research and had several companies provide quotes but Forward Van Lines simply made the best deal. They also offered free storage if needed and some free boxes + free rentable clothing boxes to get started and that made them the best deal by far.
