Fox Moving and Storage of Chattanooga

Absolutely horrible experience. The people we spoke with when we were pricing out options were very nice and they provided a reasonable quote considering the amount we had. They used an AI software to take a tour through our home to see how much we would be moving. Then, the day before the move, we got a call from a manager and he did not seem to know much about what we needed, including packing etc. That made us a little uneasy.

Overall, I have nothing great to say about this moving company. I wish I could rate this company 0/5 stars. My sister and brother-in-law utilized this moving company's services and we were extremely frustrated. Upon opening the moving truck, it was obvious to all of us that there was no care put into any of the packings. For example, a CD organizer case that would have taken 2 seconds to close was completely open and CDs were found all along the perimeter of the truck.

If you care about your belongings and want your things to be treated with respect, avoid Fox Moving & Storage of Chattanooga and look elsewhere for different moving company. I went to help my friend who had used them to transport the personal possessions belonging to his father and mother who had recently passed from Tennessee to California. I was absolutely appalled and mortified by what I witnessed. The first thing you saw after opening the doors was a 65 inch Samsung LCD TV lying faced down.

I phoned Fox Moving on the afternoon of 07/20/2021 and spoke with Chad to schedule load only assist for 07/24/2021. I was informed there was a one hour deposit due of $165 but never was it discussed the deposit was non-refundable. Later that same afternoon I learned we had sufficient help to load the belongings ourselves. I called back to the company, on the same date, to cancel the services but there was no answer. I then called back the next morning and explained the situation.

Absolutely the worst moving experience we have had. The company subcontracted the job. The subcontractor showed up with a smaller than promised truck, and then he went on vacation leaving an inexperienced crew behind. The young crew essentially complained the entire time and made little progress. My wife and I had to start moving items to the truck ourselves just to make some progress and we are around 70. After arriving at the destination the crew only wanted to unload into the garage and not the house.

First day they left with half a truck loaded at 330. Not knowledgeable about disassembling sleep number bed. Was told there would be more than 3 people to load but that didn’t happen until 330 on day 2 when we had to be out of house by 5:00 which we were not. Delivery day all 3 trucks arrived with what appeared to be day laborers as they weren’t familiar with what to do or how to do it. Even though we try old them which rooms everything went in several boxes were in wrong rooms.

I have never seen so much damage. This was just a local move and not a cross state or cross country one. Frankly, It was a perfect storm. They showed up 1.5 hours late. And it took many more hours than they said it would. Therefore costing tons more than they said it would. Worst of all, so much of my furniture is damaged with gashes, scratches, broken legs. It's like 20 pieces of damaged furniture and so many smaller items that I can't list them all. bins were ripped. The clock was broken.

We recently had a local move in Chattanooga. Overall the two young men on the crew did a pretty good job although they arrived 1.5 hours later than the scheduled time and we didn’t receive a courtesy call informing us of the tardiness. I have 12 years previous experience in the moving industry and I only have one observation that needs to be brought to the attention of Fox Management.
