My wife and I have moved many times. This was, by far, the most dishonest and unprofessional company we’ve ever worked with. Please be careful and check the reviews and complaints on the Better Business Bureau’s website. We really regret not doing that prior to hiring them. We hired Georgia Home Movers for moving and packing services. Our move was from one 2-bedroom condo to another 2-bedroom condo less than a mile away. They agreed to pack us one day and move us the next day.
They are definitely not "stress free movers!" We moved from a Marietta home into storage in anticipation of a future move to North Carolina. That occurred in July 2021. We are now on the receiving side of that move. We have moved over 20 times in our 48 year marriage and we can tell you that this was the absolute worst move of our entire married life. Most of the movers were enjoying their rap music and taking cell phone calls while working.

Before booking, I clearly explained multiple times — both verbally and in writing — that I lived on the 3rd floor with stairs and was moving into a 1st-floor unit. I was quoted a timeframe of about 2–4 hours, and I specifically planned and budgeted around a 4-hour move. The movers were already off to a bad start because they arrived late. Their arrival window was 9–11 AM, and I was supposed to receive a call around 9 AM with an ETA.
Hello Kaitlyn, While we respect all customer feedback, several statements in this review are simply inaccurate. Our crew did arrive within the agreed 9-11am arrival window and the move itself was completed within the quoted time frame 4 hours total.
I definitely do not recommend Georgia Home Movers. Please be aware of their advertisement of "trained movers who are friendly and careful...your household items are safe with us." As a senior I have moved many times in my career, but I have never had the damages and anxiety I experienced with this company. I experienced movers who damaged 7 large items which are beyond repair including an upright piano. I experienced sloppy moving tactics which resulted in more damaged goods as I went about unpacking.

The website is funny because it talks about how they treat their customers like family but I did not get that experience. The movers showed up outside of the window of time that they stated, and lll just say that the movers really stretched out the time. The biggest thing was the damages to both where I moved from and where I moved to. I really wanted to move on but the damages kept adding up. I got to even see a few in real time.
This company damaged nearly $6,000 during the moving process, and is now taking an extended period of time to process the insurance claim. 1) Lack of strategic packing: It took the moving crew over 4 hours to pack up the storage facility. After three hours, I called John to inquire about their ETA. He informed me that it was too much to fit into the truck. He said that several chairs would not fit.
There is no proof Georgia Home Movers damaged or is responsible for any damages during this move because the customer “threw everything away”. We strive to handle any issues or concerns in a professional manner.
We hired this moving company because we were told using professionals would make the move smoother. We described the size of our house and how much we had - expressing we had a lot of stuff - and they told us it would fit in two trucks. On packing day they immediately said it was more like four trucks. They finished faster than expected. The next day during loading, it became obvious they hadn’t prepped enough for the second truck.

I was going to leave very detailed specifics regarding my negative experience with this company, but after reading through other negative reviews, I decided to use my time to just highlight something else. This company has a lot of 5 star reviews which is great. However, please read through as much of the 3 and below stars as you can, PLEASE.

I recently had the pleasure of working with incredible movers Jon, Dez, and Tim, and I can't say enough positive things about the experience! From start to finish, the team demonstrated professionalism and efficiency that truly set them apart from any movers I’ve used before. First and foremost, the team arrived right on time, which immediately put my mind at ease.
Overall, I had a positive experience with Georgia Home Movers. There was a mix-up initially where they booked me for the wrong day, but they were able to shift their schedules to get a team out on the day and time I had requested. The team was about 45 minutes late, but they got to work immediately once they arrived and got everything into the truck in just about 2 hours, despite there being three flights of stairs.
I sold my home last year and was in an apt for about 9 months. I had a mover for my old house to the apt. and to a storage facility. So cost and other factors regarding moving were fresh on my mind. First, the original move was a shorter distance from my previous house to the apt and to the storage facility. Yet, Georgia Home Movers was less expensive than the original movers even though they were traveling further on each move. I had 3 guys move me one day in a 17 ft truck from the apt to the new house.
This is the second time I’ve used Georgia Home Movers and I don’t think I will ever use anyone else. Yesterday Jermaine, Brandon and Caleb helped me and my husband move from a one bed on the bottom floor to a two bed on the second floor in the same apartment building. Originally, I’d scheduled our move for the morning but someone on that team got sick and we were moved to a different team that had availability in the afternoon on the same day.
