Good View Moving & Storage

Horrible experience. This was a bait and switch move job. I received a binding estimate from Menards Moving & Storage in May for an out-of-state move between NJ and IA for $2987. After paying my deposit ($1300) and confirming the move date (6.24) Menards never clarified that they were just a broker and that the move would be outsourced elsewhere.

Horrible horrible horrible do not use for long distance. The company picked my furniture up on July 31st and I did not receive until August 7th after I was confirmed with United Van Lines to have it delivered on August 1st. Moving from NJ to NC. I did not receive all of my furniture. Missing back piece to my sectional. I called several times with no answer. Very hard to speak to workers as voicemail picks up all the time. If I could rate a 0 I would.

This company engages in misleading and fraudulent business practices. The negative 0 star reviews are accurate!!!!! 5 stars are fake and written internally. After my phone number was entered into their “lottery,” I was quoted $2,600 based on an inventory taken by a broker (Menards). When Good View arrived at my home, they suddenly increased the price by THOUSANDS, ultimately charging me $4,200+.

I wish I can give this place no stars. If I ever move out of state again, I will be moving myself. This companies are nothing but cons! They quote you one thing And double and even triple the price when they show up to move your stuff. So you have no choice but to pay the difference. And of course the office is close in the weekends, how convenient for them, I had no idea who had my stuff because they use different companies which I didn’t know that, When I finally got a hold of someone all I got was the run…

ABSOLUTELY do NOT use this company. We used Menads as a broker to secure a mover (Good View) that packed and picked up our deceased father’s property in Baltimore for delivery to Wilmington NC. Cost was over $7000 for a 2 room apartment. Carrier (Good view Moving) reported 1-3 days for delivery in NC. It’s now been 16 days, over 3 dozen phones calls from us to Menards and Good view, with either zero response or no meaningful information— such as “where is this property?”or “when will it be delivered?”.

This is the worst moving company I have experienced with. I would give them . Negative stars. Just showed up at my house. They reaped of alcohol and smoke. They left my bedframe, dressers, boxes. They threw my bed from the third floor to the first floor. This was price of a 800 job it turned out to be $3,000. And now they want an additional $3,000 from me I can't even get my stuff my belongings. They are so unprofessional rude. How do you plan on making a complaint to The better bureau Business.

UPDATE 8/18 - they have had my property since June 5th & refused to return it to me when I flew back to Virginia, rented a Uhaul and drove to the storage location they said it was being kept at. If you only read one review let it be this one. It’s been a month and a half and I still have not received my furniture/goods. They picked up on June 5, delivery was supposed to be June 8-June 10. No response when I call, text, nothing. They won’t tell me where my stuff is or when it’s going to be delivered.

Broke a majority of my mother-in-laws stuff. All of the boxes were crushed or worse. Fine china/wooden furniture ruined because of them. The absolute worst. Would not trust them with a box of matches in a rain storm. Would rather deal with a used car salesman peddling an extended warranty. See photos
