In their own words
The movers that came out were great. HOWEVER the huge issue was being overcharged. We set up an appointment for 9am and got our own truck. The reason for setting up the appointment was due to the time our prearranged truck would arrive. The movers arrived about 45min prior to the appointment and started the clock when they left. Travel time is understandable to charge for, but not time sitting there because you arrived early.
Marie, I'm happy that you found our service to be great and met your expectations. The issue that you express we would be more than happy to work with you on, had you contacted our office first we would have already of taken care of it with you.
Heartland helped me move several years ago and I had a great experience with them so went with them again. I wish it had gone as well as the last time. When they got to my house they did not have anything to protect picture frames etc (they did last time) and once they filled up the truck and delivered that to the new place they didn't go back for the rest. I am a disabled vet, don't get around well anymore and I needed someone who would pack and move everything (they said they would).
Called them to see if they'd move 5 heavy pieces of furniture for us. They set the appointment and time. Then they didn't show up. We called them, they told us the crew that was supposed to do this was in Omaha and at least an hour away. Over promise, under deliver. We have people here to do the work that was scheduled for after the movers were done. It has really put us in a bind. Not sure why a schedule was made that was impossible to meet.
We understand why you chose to make other arrangements, and we sincerely apologize that we let you down. While this experience is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide, we appreciate you bringing it to our attention so we can address what went wrong and work to prevent it from…
I am very disappointed in the communication practices of this company. We received an estimate, had communicated dates for pick up and delivery and were finalizing price. I asked for a final written estimate and the next correspondence I receive from them was this- "I am sorry for the delay. We are no longer going to be able to handle your move in this timeframe. My apologizes for any inconvenience".
I'm sorry that we disappointed you and were unable to handle your move. Being a local company we have limited resources and to provide a service that we are proud of we have to stop adding moves when our trucks and employees are spoken for.
Hired them to move exercise equipment from one basement on our property to another basement. I clearly told the person I setup the appointment with that we were asking to move an elliptical and a weight machine. After having to reschedule the original day, they came an hour late because they had our address wrong. They ended up not moving anything because of "safety issues".
Charles, I am sorry that you feel that we let you down on this occasion, and I agree that the communication could have been better for this move. I apologize, but we are unable to disassemble exercise equipment and we were under the impression that the exercise machines would be ready to go.
Do not go with these they may have a good rating for some reason but they don't stand behind their business. Told me customer is NOT always right basically calling me a liar when they damaged my couch. Then tried to brag about how good they are. If you don't want damaged items and paying way over quoted prices then do not go with these guys!!!

Heartland moved our 3 bedroom house across town last week on a rainy, dreary day. Not great working conditions. They were right on time with a three man crew. All worked fast and hard, and were very responsive, polite, and professional. They helped make a usually stressful experience much easier, and even came in under estimate. I will definitely use Heartland again and will recommend them to my friends.

I recently used Heartland Moving for a local move and was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. Martin came out in person to survey our belongings and provide an accurate, transparent quote—and as one of the movers himself, he knew exactly what it would take. On moving day, the crew of six arrived right on time, expertly padding and protecting our walls, doorways, and floors before loading two trucks in just a few hours.
I could write a novel about the awesomeness of this organization but suffice to say, they are one of the best organizations that I have worked with recently. We originally attempted to hire a moving broker that turned out to be a scam. Lee and his team got us in and worked with us on our moving timeline. We were building a new home 1400 miles away and ended up having to push back the move timeframe 3 times for a total of 6 weeks. Lee and his team did so without any hesitation.

Heartland Moving was the most professional and efficient moving company my husband and I have ever used. Everyone we encountered from the owner to the moving crew were fantastic! Kristin was warm and friendly when doing our estimate and setting up our move date. She also let us use special wardrobe boxes to help move our clothes. The gentlemen who actually handled our move are the best in the business. Nicest and most courteous group of guys.
