Moved from an 1 bed apartment to a townhouse. The move took just over 6 hours. Cost over $1200 Positives: My stuff got from my old house to my new house. Negatives: We paid for 3 movers but one of the movers kept yelling at and just telling the other two what to do so we really only got 2 movers. I actually felt bad for these 2 movers as they didn’t seem to be doing anything wrong. This mover also kept lecturing me, I was very confused on what.
Hey Ellie, first of all thank you for your business, we really appreciate it. ❤️🙏🏾 To address your displeasure over our service to you on the 27th of June, (I'd like like to state that we did reached out to you to see what we can do to address your concerns in which you declined).
I’ll start by saying that Helping Hands staff and management are nice folks and it’s unfortunate that our concerns were not resolved. They were 2.5 hours late and kept changing their ETA. We had to move things ourselves and were not given a discount on the final fee. For context, my partner booked Helping Hands for November 26 at 1pm. She paid a $500 safety deposit at her apartment to book the elevators and have a person watch over the front door (since they had to turn off front entrance security) until 5pm.
For the sake of clarity I'd like to briefly explain what went down between helping hands family movers and Mrs Wesley. One. she never booked our services, was never our client. She phoned a day after we moved her (claimed friend) and was asking for 40 dollars, then I told her we never did any…
I do not recommend this company! I hired "Helping Hands Family Movers" and I am extremely disappointed with them, for some reasons: They left behind (at the previous house) some furniture and boxes. They charged me substantially more than the quote they sent me, claiming they spent more time loading and unloading the truck They damaged my TV and BBQ and no answer from them to reimburse me. I sent some emails to them and they replied just one, being very clear that they do not care.
The move was fine and they got all my stuff to new apartment in one piece. There was a mistake where I had only requested 2 guys and they sent out 3 and was going to be forced to pay for 3. I had to show the texts I sent with the manager to prove I only requested 2; make sure to have proof of how many you requested. They honored it, but then the 3rd guy decided to stay and talk to me. Which wouldn't have been an issue if he hadn't made me uncomfortable.
Hey Ariel, too bad we didn't meet most of your expectations. We will definitely do better in the future. Have a great day and stay blessed 🙏🏾 …
Helping Hands Family Movers were hired to complete our move in Edmonton from our Duplex to a new home just minutes down the road in June 2017. The owner was frustrating to work with, became defensive often with us, was careless with our belongings (barely wrapped anything) and exhibited poor customer care and service.
Hey Adam. It breaks my heart to hear you were not certified about our services. Although most of the things you said here were lies and so much lies. But again your constructive criticism is a wake up call for our small but humble family run business to do better in the future.
I had a horrible experience with Helping Hands Family Movers. If I could give 0 stars I would. What should have been a straightforward move turned into a costly and frustrating disaster. This company was not only inefficient and careless, but also refused to stand by their own contract for damages. I’m extremely upset and disappointed, and now have to spend hundreds of dollars fixing what they damaged. Please do yourself a favor and hire someone else.
Hi Yelisa, my sincerest apologies for not meeting up with your expectations during your mother's move. To address what went down yesterday. First of all no "property" was damaged... No basement foundation was damaged as alleged.
Yeah, we had a lot of stuff, and the new place was 45 minutes away. But seriously, with three guys and a five ton truck, it took nine hours to load and unload a two-bedroom apartment, plus two hours travel time?!?! The last two cabinets and two chairs took an hour and a half to move down the elevator and onto the truck! It even turned out that part of what we were paying for was their lunch hour. Then there was the fact that they arrived almost two hours late.
Good morning Peter. We are deeply sorry that you aren't happy with our service. And we have made the effort to contact you and make things right with you but the phone number we have on file is no longer in service. Please give Angela a call and discuss your concern with her.
I called this company for a quote to move my contents of my condo. When I was quoted the price To move it came in almost twice as low compared to fellow competitors. I was very excited to get this low price as a penny saved is a penny for a rainy day. To my skepticism I asked for the company to provide me proof of insurance and information of its deductibles. This is my right to ask from a business who is offering any service as my contents are very precious to me.
Hey Jamal. you see, from your reviews up there any potential costumer can see that it's all lies. First of all Helping hands family movers is not your average small shop moving company. Secondly We have 6 full time employees. We are a WCB covered company.

I can’t recommend this moving company enough! From the moment they arrived, the team was professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient. They handled all of our belongings with great care, making sure everything was wrapped and protected during the move. The movers worked hard from start to finish, were respectful of our home, and made what could have been a very stressful day feel easy and organized.

Moving is already a challenge, so movers should make the transition smooth and seamless. I hired this company on a whim and I am so impressed with the service and my decision. They are easygoing but very professional, we shared a great many laughs and this company is true to its word. They arrived on time, did their checks and got to work. Do not hesitate to call and book Helping Hands, usually I do not write reviews but I felt compelled to share the good news with those who may be contemplating.

Outstanding Service from Start to Finish! I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Helping Hands Family Movers. From the very first call, Austin’s team demonstrated exceptional customer service — responsive, friendly, and genuinely committed to making our move as smooth as possible. What truly stood out was their empathy and understanding throughout the process. Moving can be a stressful and emotional time, but every team member we interacted with brought patience, kindness, and reassurance.
I cannot recommend this moving company enough! Moving is usually incredibly stressful, but the team made the entire process seamless and efficient from start to finish. The crew arrived exactly on time and introduced themselves. They were polite, organized, and handled all of my belongings with the utmost care. They worked incredibly fast without cutting corners. I was amazed at how quickly they were able to wrap my furniture and navigate through tight hallways without a single scratch on the walls.
Hi Lynn. Thank you so much for your business and also for taking out your precious time to write your positive experience with our service. Thank you so much for choosing Helping Hands Family Movers and we sure will be here when next you need us. Wishing you the best of the summer.
